Re: Soda blast vs Chem dip?
There is no warpage with the oven melting because they cool the metal down over a period of several days. That is the way we cool down stills in the chemical plant I work in, and they run 400*F regularly. It cost me around $600.00 if I remember right. They charge by oven time. Body filler runs out, ...

Their oven is how the paint was stripped off my truck. Price was reasonable and it burned out hidden rust. Pinholes burned out to good metal.

Re: Soda blast vs Chem dip?
There is a third option. I had mine put in a large powder coating oven and had the paint baked off. I used m in Bloomington, Illinois. That was 10 years ago, but it also burns out all the rust. A pin hole turned into the size of a quarter, but it was easier to patch that way. This is what came back ...

Re: Finally working on the 64 again!!!!!
Just been filling holes in the bed floor with 16 ga sheet metal. Die grinding out the rust and making patch panels, then mig welding them in. The flat panels fore and aft of the wheel wells. Hope to have the dings filled soon with body filler since they aren't that bad and will hopefully be shooting...

Re: Fender Adjustment
Worked with it this afternoon. Shimmed between the cowl bracket and the bottom of the fender/ inner fender. I noticed a space for shims on the bottom of the inner fender. It is a little better. Thanks for the comments.

Fender Adjustment
Anybody have a trick on lining up fenders? I keep getting a gap under the cowl and above the fender. The cab had new floors and cab mounts welded in ten years ago. Tried cranking down on the cab mount bolts, and that did help some. Thanks for any advice, Bear

Finally working on the 64 again!!!!!
After 10 years, the death of my parents, moving, fixing tractors, lawnmowers, painting the wife's horsetrailer, I am finally back to MY project. I started this truck when we were on MSN!!!!!!!! It was completely torn down during Slick Stock 1 in Iowa. I tried to post a picture of it, but I guess I c...
