Re: first post: brake light diagnosis?
I fought brake lights and my problem was finally solved by cleaning connector where harness goes through the firewall. It was loose and some of the contacts had begun to corrode.

Re: 3 Speed Transmission Search
I am assuming that I can use a longer one and simply have the drive shaft cut down. Is that correct?

3 Speed Transmission Search
Decided to replace transmission in my '64. It is behind a 292 Y Block and is a 3 speed toploader. Could not find a tag, but case casting number is C3AR-7006-E. Most all of the transmissions that I have found on Craigslist and other places have tailhousings and mounts on the rear. Mine has a very sho...

3 speed transmission help
Been enjoying my slick for the last few months and now have lost second gear. Three on the tree. Truck has "A" vin code. Was having to make a big "s" to find it and then all of the sudden it is nowhere to be found. Bushings are still whole, but have ordered replacements. Adjusted...

Re: Air Conditioning
I've seen pics with an underdash unit that was a ford dealer install item like I had in a Mustang. Anyone have experience with those?

Re: Ignition Switch Issue
Switch and all other parts came from LMC. Works perfectly when fully assembled outside of dash. Install in dash and its like it binds up.

Ignition Switch Issue
New switch, cylinder, bezel and other associated items. The switch seems to be in a bind such that it will not rotate back from "start". Everything is lined up and it will turn freely when not installed.

Re: Seatbelt Bolts
Thought the factory holes had welded in place nuts. Nope. Just a hole. Ended up using grade 8 hardware.

Re: 2100 carb issue
Carb spacer and gaskets on upside down. Everything was offset about half an inch and butterflies were hanging up on the gasket.
Pay a shop $90 per hour and you should get competent mechanics.

2100 carb issue
I had only rebuilt single bore carbs for jeeps, so I elected to pay someone to rebuild my 2100 for my 292 y block. I have just now been able to get the truck on the road since buying it and noticed that there is no power. I can barely go uphill in first gear and once moving, I can maybe get to 35 mp...

Re: Master Cylinder Help
I don't think so. I took the bolt out several times and did not notice that it was an eccentric bolt. I think I would have noticed, but I will have to check that. Thanks.

Re: Master Cylinder Help
Rod was non-adjustable and too short. Made a spacer and brakes work. Ordered an adjustable rod. Thanks everyone for your help.

Re: Master Cylinder Help
Just picked it up and there is no pressure at all. Pedal goes to the floor. it seems like there is a lot of movement before the rod even engages the piston. Are there different length rods for these trucks that maybe got switched out when someone replaced the master before? I bought a new master and...

Master Cylinder Help
Admittedly, I am no mechanic, but I replaced the Master Cylinder myself and then paid a shop to replace everything else related to the brake system. Shop cannot get full pressure in system and think that the problem is the master. The master install was self explanatory, except for a little rubber d...

Re: FNG from Texas
So you think it is like a parking or entry sticker and that it is just the sticker that was "property of the Tulsa Airport Authority"?
What sold me on the truck was the originality. Almost everything is there and the way it came from the factory (except for the grille of course).
