Re: Pull'n my 352-revised w/pics........

The engine looks great! Glad to see you were able to get the pics back up. It is sad to scroll through the forum and see all of the broken picture links.

Re: '66 F250 Front Drum Brakes

It was nice to meet you as well Paul! The axle code on my warranty plate is 24, which as I understand it means it does, as you surmised, have 4.10 gears. I did take to Facebook after the cruise-in, and I have a set of Camper Special inserts that will be headed my way next week. I am pretty excited a...

Re: Photobucket

FarmMotorSports, thanks for your reminder about TOS. It caused me to go back and re-read the terms of vgy. I didn't see anything that looked bad, but it was a good reminder. I will often scroll through the legal mumbojumbo, and click "ok". I think that may be part of why that stuff is so w...

Re: '66 F250 Front Drum Brakes

Now all I need to do is get a deal like James got, and pick up all of the needed parts for a disc brake and power stearing conversion from a donor truck for $100. That is the kind of deal that would fit well into my budget!

Re: My '66 F250 Custom Cab Camper Special

From what the PO told me (and VIN plate seems to at least partially verify), mine is originally an Arizona Truck. Second owner brought it to Texas, and repainted it, and recovered the seat (cover has the Ford logo embossed). PO was the third owner, and used it as advertising for their business, they...

Re: Test

Yes, those are definitely some large pics. I am resizing the pics taken on my phone to 50% before uploading them, I think I resized a couple to 25%, you do definantly loose some detail when you resize them, but the thread is a little easier to navigate, especially on a phone.

Re: 66 Camper Special......your attention please

Well, it sounds like we are basically going about it eh same way. I have done everything from my phone so far. I am resizing using the picture editing in my phone, and then uploading one at a time. I am unsure if there is a more efficient way. Definitely not as user friendly as the picture sharing w...

Re: New guy from Southwest Houston

I gave Ruth my email address that night, but haven't gotten an email from her yet. I will have to see what my work schedule looks like on the 13th, but will try to make it. Do you know what time people show up at the Pearland Lowes on Fridays? I am going to try to make that this week. I have to be a...

Re: My '66 F250 Custom Cab Camper Special

Thanks Jason! I am really enjoying it. It is nice to have something that is easy to work on, and the attention that it gets when I take it out is pretty nice as well. That is a good looking '64 you've got.

My '66 F250 Custom Cab Camper Special

Not sure that this is exactly where this should go as it is not much of a build. I was lucky to find a pretty complete truck. She does have a few problem areas that will have to be taken care of with time. I wanted a place to help me remember what was done and when. I picked her up in Tomball TX fro...

Re: Air Conditioning

I didn't see any mention of it on Classic Auto Air page, are their kits available for an inline 6? I did some initial searches on other aftermarket a/c system websites, and everything was for a V8.

Re: Photos without photobucket

I am using https://vgy.me it is a third party, but seems to be working well. It is pretty easy to use. I wondered what it would take to bypass the 3rd party. Pretty new here, so don't want to stir anything up. My thought was keep membership and ability to post (including pics from third party sites ...

Re: New guy from Southwest Houston

My daily driver for several years was a Jeep YJ with factory a/c that has not worked for the entire time that I have owned it. So, the wife is used to cruising without a/c. I am supposed to be selling the Jeep since I bought the Slick. We are going to miss taking it to the beach though.

Re: '66 F250 Front Drum Brakes

Well I googled images of Dana 60 drum brakes, and a bunch of the images show that blue spring. My rear end is a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears. Were other rear ends an option on a '66 F250? The only difference I see in the Google images of a Dana 60 brake set up, and the manual is the blue spring. Perhaps ...

Re: '66 F250 Front Drum Brakes

Chris, here are the pics that James sent me from his 1966 Ford/Mercury Factory Shop Manual. The first is for the F100, and the second for the F250. My issue now is that what looks possibly wrong to me seems to be right, but what seemed perfectly ok seems to most likely be wrong. https://vgy.me/4q8IW...

Re: '66 F250 Front Drum Brakes

I am toying with the idea of a power/disc conversion. Leaving the rears as drums would be fine as far as braking goes, but the rear brakes are a lot more to deal with than the fronts since you have pull the axle shaft just to access the brakes. I think that if I go to disc it will be 4 wheel. I also...

Re: New guy from Southwest Houston

Many members in that area. They have frequent get togethers. Paul, Ruth and Robert, Uncle Skip, and Lyman are all in the Houston area. I think it may have been Ruth and Robert that I met. I am pretty horrible with remembering names. Very nice couple. They told me about some local classic car cruise...
