firewall seam sealer?
What's the best choice for sealing that mid-way horizontal seam on the firewall? Would POR-15 putty work? Or does it need to be an elastomeric type compound?

Re: What I learned today
I actually called my coworker to come and pick me up and bring me back and he obliged :-). This truck has been my daily driver for a while now, and I’ve helped probably half a dozen people with jump starts and such in the parking lot. Its always funny to see my old truck jump starting a Lexus. Lol. ...

That's beautiful. I almost pulled the trigger on a '68 F-350 flatbed the other day but decided my wife would divorce me if I brought another truck home. "But, baby this one is different. It runs!"

What I learned today
Something can be firmly attached but still not make good contact. I drove home for lunch yesterday and the truck was running a bit "odd". It got cold here yesterday so I figured it was just some choke issue. When I got back in the truck to go back to work though, I turned the key "on&...

Oil pressure sensor ohms?
Is there a scale somewhere to show what range the oil pressure sender is supposed to put out? I’d like to check it to make sure it’s actually working and get an idea what idle pressure is running.

Re: Beige and white 66
Hmm, I live in B'ham and haven't seen a beige and white one. There is a black '65 near me and I've seen a turquoise and white one over near Vestavia. Those are the only ones I know of.

Re: harder to find: 65 radiator or unicorn?
Ok, from what I can tell so far I actually have a '66 radiator in there now, not a '65. If you are standing in front of the truck, facing the grill, the top outlet is on your right and the bottom outlet is on the left. I think the '65 radiator for a 6-cyl has both top and bottom outlets on the left....

Re: harder to find: 65 radiator or unicorn?
i had a radiator shop recore my old radiator for a little over $300 a few years ago. My local shop wanted $450 for a re-core. I think the clogged one in my truck now is actually a '66 but it fits fine. Other than the top port being on the other side I can't tell the difference between a 65 and 66 r...

harder to find: 65 radiator or unicorn?
Anybody know a source for a '65 radiator that doesn't cost $600? Do they exist at anything close to a reasonable price? I only found one, from US radiator, and I've bought cars cheaper than what they want for it.

Maybe a carb spacer would help? Also, I wonder if the gas tank has a venting issue.

Re: gear ratio for easier highway speed
Haven't figured out the ratio yet (no tag that I can find, hope to jack and spin this weekend), but installed a tachometer. It's running 2500 rpm @ 55 mph, and 3000 rpm @ 65 mph. Will post back when I figure out what the ratio is.

Re: gear ratio for easier highway speed
I'm not sure how to tell what ratio is currently in it. So far, this truck has been bone stock in every respect. I know I need to figure out the RPM's. I'll pick up a cheap tach and see what it's doing at speed and post back. Was just wondering if anyone had a good example configuration in their tru...
