I rebuilt my doors on my last truck
I had them off the truck to do it (layed on a table)
Everything comes out & goes in like a jigsaw puzzle
Plus the weatherstripping
After doing them....
I don't think I would attempt to do a door fastened To the cab

Raised metal might be a real item for a diehard

Not to mention industrial diesel i6 engines
We have a tractor with close to 11,000 hours ...
That would be over 1/2 a million miles at 50 mph
Never been touched .....

Maintenance & type of driving are more of indicator of life

Probably depends on the i6
The 240 / 300 have longer life than the 223 on Fords in my opinion

My uncle had a slant 6 dodge that had well over 300k on it

I've heard of 300 Fords going well over 300k miles

I would put some air deflector fins in there ... if you put them at angles , In a circular design , the air would get a spinning effect & grab all the heat Evenly (they do this in the chimneys of gas water heaters ) you definitly Need a fan ... 4" is too small for gravity flow circulation ....

The last time I worked on a master cylinder
The whole unit was just a smidgen more costly than a rebuild kit
I won't fiddle with them if it's a matter of saving $10
