Tranny fluid in power steering?

So I just had a new power steering box (bendix) installed in the truck & the mechanic says he filled it with automatic transmission fluid in instead of power steering fluid. Says he does it all the time. Is this ok. Just wondering with the $600 price tag, are the seals etc... ok with this fluid ...

Neither one of those was a dumb question. A dumb question around here would be something like: Hi everyone, I just got a great deal on a chev 350 and was wondering if a couple of you guys would like to come by & help me install it in my Uni. The pomegranate juice is on me................Anyone??...

Thanks guys as always.

This ebay guy seems to have very positive feedback as to the quality of his stuff so I'll give it a shot. Also, He has the Turquoise color I want. I'll report on the fit & quality if anyone wants to know.

Carpet for the truck.

So I'm looking at buying some carpet for the truck from ebay. The seller lists that it fits from 1965 to 1972. Is this correct, are the floor pan design all the same. Just want to know before I buy non-refundable product.

Also, has anyone here had luck with buying carpet, any recomendations??

I had the Y block in my 61. Quite a torquey motor. I put dual exhaust (2 1/2 inch) & Magnaflow mufflers with an H pipe. Sounded awsome but not too loud. Be quite a bit more powerful than the 300 and mine wasn't too bad on fuel. I miss it. Be nice to couple it with a 4 or 5 speed, keep the revs d...

The Slick that started it all....

Diggin through some old pics & found the only existing pic of my first slick, a 1965 F100. Pic is circa 1980ish. Bought it for $250. It had holes in the floors, burned oil, dripped oil, lots of bondo, 3 military tires & one bias tire but I loved that truck. I diamond tufted the interior, ins...

Kinda hard to find the Merc Uni's up here but regular cab PU's are a little more common. I actually just bought a Merc donor truck that the 300 I6 is coming out of. Fairly rotted but lots of good parts once the motor's out. http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc348/3ontree66/003.jpg http://i526.photo...
