Re: What's Happened to this Place?
I have not been on here since I sold my 66 but checked today to see if it was still up and running, tired of late model trucks and might get another 60s or 70s soon.

Re: sold my 66
I am getting down to having only two or three older vehicles and two daily drivers and that is it,I have seven vehicles and its just too much to keep up with. They got me down to 4 days at work and money will get tighter if I do not find a part time or another job.

sold my 66
I need to downsize the fleet so the 66 was the first to go and it went to a very happy 17 year old young lady in Michigan,I hated to let it go but things have changed and need to reduce my expenses and its getting close to license time of the year and have one more that needs to find a new home.

Re: harder to find: 65 radiator or unicorn?
A 77 F350 460 radiator will bolt in but they are huge,my 66 needed a core support and since I had a 460 with its radiator from a 77 I got a 65 core support.

Re: Got the 351-W in tonight
Got a pair of factory lightning headers and much better, still have a vacumn leak that needs attention but not that bad I can not drive it. Parts truck C-6 shifts much better then the rebuilt C-6 I got with the 460 and the oil is dirty after only a couple hundred miles so it must have not been change...

Re: Got the 351-W in tonight
Now that I got a new timing chain set in and the distributor loose I have been putting some miles on it and so far its been good,I do miss the torque of the 460 but do not miss feeding it. I put on some used foxbody mustang factory headers but they angle the pipes towards the frame and might have to...

Re: Got the 351-W in tonight
Rigged a exhaust on it and could tell I was down a couple cylinders, turned out the carb was loose and its running smooth now. Going to proceed to the timing chain next and it will be ready to drive.

Re: Looking for a running FE
Since I started getting parts to put a 351-W in I picked up a 85 351 and its in and running, did look at a 71 360 and NP 435 at a local junkyard but did not want to give 600 for them so I got the 351 for a little over 200.

Re: Got the 351-W in tonight
It is in and running, went on the first drive and the parts truck C-6 shifts better then the rebuilt C-6 that was behind the 460 that came out. The only problem is the timing chain is very sloppy and the timing is retarded and the distributor is stuck, good oil pressure and the motor does not heat up ...

Re: Got the 351-W in tonight
All done except for exhaust manifolds, looks like i will have to use a cable for the passing gear since the rod will not even come close to working. The 460 must have sat a little more forward since I was able to use the rod with it.

Re: Got the 351-W in tonight
One hole on each side needed drilled for the mounts and all I need is to get a carb, exhaust manifolds, fan spacer and radiator hoses, since I put a 65 core support in so I could use that big 460 radiator I am stuck with it and might be over kill but do not want to change the core support again.

Got the 351-W in tonight
The 460 I put in a few years ago had a serious vibration issue so it came out so I had been trying to get a 92 351 converted to a carb which was not going to good so I picked up a 85 351 and got it in tonight, the rear sump oil pan clears everything but the dipstick is very close to the master cylind...

Small block motor mounts in a 66
Installed the small block mounts in my 66 and there were only 3 holes that lined up,looks like one on each side will need to be drilled so is that the norm. There were four holes for the 460 mounts.

I think I had those rivets out in less then a hour, that 460/c-6 came out easy with it out of the way.

Crossmember at radius arm brackets
I think someone decided to play a joke and have the upper bolted and lower riveted, today I replace the rivets with bolts so it can be removed so the 460/C-6 can be removed as one. It went in with the front clip removed and not going to remove it to pull the motor.

It has a C-6 behind the 460 and the pressure plate I have is a replacement diaphram type.
