Re: Speaker installation in the cab
I had some smaller speaker put into the headliner panel where the dome light goes. they were lightweight and worked pretty good. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m29/fedorov_rocks/66F100/mvc-005x.jpg I agree, I have them in the same location in my slick, (if you dont want to cut up the headliner ...

Re: Sounds, toones, you know... music.
I mounted a pair of 5" mids in the headliner, (the upper rear angled section where the interior light is mounted) I am very happy with it because your head is close to the speakers so the sound projecting downward toward is great without having to crank it up, they are also a little more out of...

Wagon wheels or Eagle Alloys?
When I purchased my slick it sported (& still does) a set of eagle alloys and seeing as the truck is far from a show truck these rims look a little over the top (and now outdated, imho they are better suited for a mid 90s chevy 1500) I was thinking of replacing them with a set of old wagon wheel...

Camper special spring stiffness?
Just a quick question about coils. The donor truck for my slick was a 78 Camper special (460) (My slick has a 302.) I was originally planning on transferring the whole front end unit to the slick, but I am wondering if these springs (especially after cutting a coil off) would be too stiff for comfor...

I just wasnt sure if the PO just left the 66 column & took a 79 wheel/collar & mounted it on the 66 column (if that even works without heavy modification)

Steering wheel adapter/installation kit
My awesome wife bought me a Mooneyes steering wheel for my slick http://i45.tinypic.com/90tybr.jpg However I need to get an adapter & from what I've found I can simply use a Grant adapter, but I am not sure what year my column/steering wheel the PO retrofitted, its obviously mid-late 70's wheel ...

What would you pay for this 79 Ranger Lariat? (parts truck)
Found another donor truck for my slick, a 79 Ranger Lariat supercab longbox, the guy that is selling it doesnt know a whole lot about vehicles by the sound of it, he 'thinks' has a 351. (which doesnt really matter to me because I am mainly buying it for the front discs etc.) & will end up partin...

Tilt column from 79 fit 66?
I tried the search and I 'think' I got my answer but still not confident, gotta ask to make sure, I am getting my 79 donor truck for my 66 & it has a tilt column, just want to make sure is this a fairly straight forward swap for my '66 non tilt? (both trucks power steering, both trucks automatics)

Re: "Anyone Ever Tried This Maneuver?"
I stumbled across a similar video, then read up alot on this practice as my budget is probably similar to yours & I am going to give it a shot this spring. I was skeptical at first, but I dont see a problem with it, it doesnt seem to affect the integrity of the tire as long as you dont get carri...

Parts to salvage off a '79 (other than the obvious)
I just found a 79 donor for my slick, mainly for front discs/dual master cylinder etc. seeing as I wont have the space to keep it around I will probably end up plucking everything off it that would be beneficial to my 66, then end up donating the remains to a buddy who is restoring a 74. I tried sea...

I love the look! I am aiming for a similar stance. How much is the rear lowered and what size are your rear tires if you dont mind me asking?

Re: Questions about bending/drop beams (again)
By cutting coils (and bending beams) am I on track expecting about 2" to 2.5" being the max I'd want to push before I start asking for trouble?

Re: Questions about bending/drop beams (again)
Ive read that alot about the dream beams being junk & the AIM beams being slightly better but still enough complaints about kingpin bushing fitment issues to make me not want to spend 500+
