Re: rear leaf spring center pin question
Farm stores are your friend. I use Allen bolts for center pins. If they are too small I slip a reducer bushing over the round head to make it the right size. Same place for u bolts. They usually have several sizes to choose from.

Re: '62 Unibody Still Plugging Along
Quick update! Got a lot done on the unibody in the last couple of months. Made a custom gas tank that holds 32.5 gallons. Smoothed the whole dash, created a new gauge insert from engine turned stainless steel, polished aluminum and had the surround chromed. Modified and mounted a 1969 AMC Rebel cent...

Re: '62 Unibody Still Plugging Along
Removed all the wiper assembly, filled the holes and replaced a short section of cowl vent on each side with normal cowl vent. Nice uniform cowl vent from one side to the other with no wiper dents. Also cut out the problematic right side engine tower and started over. Now things sit level, the 8V ai...

30 days back into the build! Big window section completed. Doors adjusted in the door jambs, gapped and material added where needed to get everything to line up correctly. Stripped the paint from the outside of the doors and the roof. Glass out. Radio speaker hole filled. Radio hole filled in the da...

Got the big window section in. Went well. Pretty much snapped into place once everything was cleaned up. All welded in and ground down. Looks great. Ready to move to the crooked engine stand on the right side! Posted a lot of pictures of the whole process in the "Unibody Union' group on Faceboo...

I'm back on my build! Basically sharing it on FB since I can't direct post pictures on this site. I'm not going to be held hostage again like photo bucket has done, ruining so many great threads across the internet. I'm trying to post daily in "Unibody Union" on Facebook. So far I've got t...

The guy that used to drive my race car for us had this happen in real life. He got a call from a guy at work in the middle of the night and told him if he could come up with $200 he would sell him his year old Chrysler mini van. He knew Chris had been car shopping for a van for his wife. Chris knew ...

Re: look twice, oil once
Worked at a service station in the mid 70's. We got a whole batch of filters that did that one time. No big deal the first time around, they went on fine. When they came back for the next change was when the problem showed up. The crimps holding the seals in were incomplete. Left the gasket every ti...

What coil are you using?
Are you feeding it a straight 12V? Per II uses no resistor in the voltage coming in.

The little Iowa/Illinois group met there a few months ago for breakfast and then want to the museum. Good little trip. Thanks for stopping by, Dan. Good to see you again and visit a little. Now 3 people in the group have seen that I do have a truck, since I never actually take it out of the garage! ...

Coilovers showed up Friday! Think these should work fine to replace the stock springs and shocks and give me adjustability for ride height and shock stiffness. Also several spring rates to choose from. Made an "educated" guess of 550#/" to start with. Can go up or down from there once...

Burning up the credit card the last few days. No pictures but more parts ordered! For the '32 I just ordered a Hughes Performance "Street Rod" torque converter. 2000 RPM, 10.5" bolt circle, 26 spline case fill C4. Should have it Tuesday. Once we have that we can hook the engine and tr...

Time for an update! Still fighting with cancer. On my 5th treatment regime, had a few nasty reactions. The last one has made my heart go out of rhythm and I am in AFIB for the 2nd time in 2 months. Get it shocked back into place next week, again. Ended up with 2 - '26 T coupe bodies and lots of part...
