Re: Well, my ship finally came in...

If the gel coat and stringers are in good condition, a Century of that vintage is worth saving (may not be for you, but someone would want it). Be cool as hell with a marine 460 in it.

Re: Hey Slicksters, remember me?

I'm not sure about yellow trucks I hear they are bad for you?? Good to see you are doing well! Get the rest of the hot rods put together? LOL, hey that drivers door in the pic just got hung. It's the one you sold me. Still need to paint the inside, but it works. Here's a pic of the hot rod, probabl...

Re: Turn signal switch & hood hinges

Bmcgc, the key to making the turn cancel work right is to make sure you have the wheel aligned properly when re-installing and the wheels are straight ahead. Otherwise it will not cancel or cancel too quickly.

Cool! Yeah, wiring problems can be a pain to chase down. Sometimes it's just about trial and error, glad it was so easy.

Re: Hey Slicksters, remember me?

Thanks guys! It is still a work in progress and yes it's still pretty rusty in spots. And yes, it's been about 4 yrs, I can't believe it myself. Good to be back and good to be playing with the toys again.

Re: tonneau covers

I just had a custom one done. It's not to the level of quality I wanted, but I didn't pay much and the quality has more to do with the upholsterer than anything else. I wanted old school, traditional, not new style sleek.

Re: Wiring

Self canceling is mechanical, not electrical. I'd start with wiring and always look at grounding first. Improper grounding can do some funky things. I've been fighting this on mine recently. In the end, I had a bulb that was all honked up. But grounds were also an issue.

Hey Slicksters, remember me?

Hey Guys, I think it's been about 4 years since I logged in and posted here. Moved to Japan, parked the '61 and when I moved back she fired up like she was never gone. I've moved from Seattle to South Carolina and built a nice shop with a lift and a loft for my toys and the locals here love my Slick...

Are you going to put some kind of a stop or lip on the arms where they attach to the axle/U-bolt? I'd hate for those to slide out if the u-bolts loosen.

as far as your questions, you will need to post the BOM on the axle. Full float v. semi, you can tell by looking at the hubs.

If it's a 60, its worth a lot to the 4x4 crowd in that bolt pattern. The 60 is very stout, but as stated heavy. If I had it, I'd leave it, just because I'd focus on other things more important. The last thing that will die on that truck is a dana 60 rear unless you really over load it.

I think the whole video tape thing kinda tarnishes the achievment. They all do it. I even saw Don Shula before the game answer that very question about if the Pats win, would it be with an asterik. He said all teams do it, it didn't give them any more of an advantage than anyone else has and "...

I'd take a couple leafs out of the rear at least to drop it a little. It will still have a healthy rake, just not look like it's going to fall over itself.
Twin I Beam suspension. Replaced the solid front I beam (single) axle.

That is cool. I always laughed at people that cheered on a particular funny car because of the "motor" it ran thinking it was a Dodge, Chevy, Ford motor. Now you can truly say this is a Ford motor. This statement said it all for me: “We had three things in mind when we set out on this proj...
