Highboy owners.

Hello All, I’ve bought a 76 highboy. The installed headers are junk. My neighbor has a stack of FE exhaust manifolds. Can anyone tell me if the stock FE manifolds on a highboy had the exhaust from the drivers side exiting in the rear or in the middle of the manifold? I’m not currently with the truck...

Twin I beam suspensions

In Fort Worth, Tx I have two twin I beam front end suspensions. One is drum brake half ton. Free if you come get it. One is disk brake 3/4 ton with proportioning valve. $100. Let me know if you are interested as I'll probably scrap them this week. I have a 9" rear end and several radiators. Mak...

Bleeding power brakes

Hello All, I have a 65 f100 that I think has been put on a later model frame. Anyway, it has front disks and power steering. I've bled lots of brakes, but never any power disk. Is there anything different about power brakes and the calipers? I also looks like it is missing a hose from the booster. T...

Engine removal question

Hello All, I've used the engine lift clamps that bolt on intake manifold on small blocks with cast iron intakes. Now I'm removing a big block with an aluminum intake. Anyone ever have problems doing this? I have visions of the carb bolts being yanked out of the aluminum. Thanks for any info. I can't...

Tailgate install.

Hello All, I did a search but couldn't find the answer. Should the tailgate go on with both hinges installed or do you have to put the tailgate on one hinge, then install the other. I didn't take this truck apart and I got new hinges from lmc. It looks like the hinges are about 1/4 inch to long to s...

Re: Ford Wagon identification.

Looks like our wagon was probably the Country Sedan version. The cheap version on the Country Squire.

Re: Ford Wagon identification.

Thanks Guys,
That was the only picture I had. The rest of the picture was covered up by a bunch of rotten kids.
All I remember is 6 kids, blue vinyl seats and no air conditioning.

Ford Wagon identification.

Hello All, I need help identifying what I thought was a Ford Falcon wagon. I would have swore growing up it was a 63' Falcon wagon. But looking at the picture below, I can't find a falcon wagon with the tail light below. Does anyone know what wagon this is off of? I'm beginning to think it might be ...

Maching front disks to fit a smaller center hole.

Hello All, I have a set of steel wheels that work fine on a truck with drum brakes. When I put them on the truck with disk brakes, the center hole is too small. Has anyone ever machined down the center hub on a front brake disk to fit in a smaller center hole? What little I know about a brake lathe ...

Re: 17x7 Dodge steelies

Thanks
These are 16" Dodge steel wheels. The tires are p225/R7516.

They really look good now that I have the trim rings on them.

Warning though, the center holes are too small if you have disk brakes!
You will have to machine the disk a little to get them to fit.

If you don't mind me asking, did they quote you a price on the rebuild? I'm sitting on the fence for a 352 rebuild.

Painting seat rails?

Hello All,
I've cleaned up a rusty pair of seat rails and was wondering if anyone has painted these? These seem like they originally had bad zinc coating or something similar.
I'll probably just try and coat them with clear but was wondering what someone else had done.

Thanks for the info.

Re: 1985 F150 question.

Thanks for the info, Banjopicker.

Are you saying to drill out where the key is supposed to insert into the cylinder? That should be fairly easy.

Thanks

1985 F150 question.

Hello All, I have a 1985 F150 that my brother in law gave me. I keep it out at the deer camp. Someone broke into the truck and our cabin. The thing is I guess they found the keys to the truck in the cabin after they had smashed the window out on the truck. I keep the battery disconnected so they did...

Sandblast cabinet trouble shooting.

Hello All, I've gotten an old Dayton sandblast cabinet given to me with some other stuff I bought. I'm having a hard time getting it to work. Does anyone have a blast type cabinet? What air pressure should I be trying to use? I know my air is good, clean and dry. Does the whole system work on suckin...
