Re: 262 I6 water pump SOS
It's been a while since I have been active (for me) on this site, but I have enjoyed stopping by now and then. I'm resurrecting this old thread to report on my experience locating a water pump for my 262. In short, I found a shop in Oregon that seemed to have a good reputation rebuilding water pumps...

Re: Clutch Equalizer Bar
The bronze bushings were still in there, the metal just tore for some reason. A friend repaired it this evening. We were looking for a piece of steel tubing to slip over the end to reinforce it, but couldn't find the right size. We'll see how it holds up... https://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae353/...

Re: Has anyone had this happen to them before?
If I had a Mustang, then parts are plentiful, but...... Tinkering is one of the things I enjoy about owning this truck, besides, that's what my grandpa did to keep it running the years he owned it. A friend of mine who makes his living restoring old Porsches has agrees to help me repair it. Looking ...

Has anyone had this happen to them before?
My clutch failed as I pulled into my favorite coffee shop (McDonald's) at 0500 the other morning. Pedal went right to the floor with nearly no resistance at all. I opened the hood and looked over the linkage and could see nothing obviously wrong. I figured my pressure plate had failed or release for...

Clutch Equalizer Bar. *No longer needed
Looking to purchase a clutch equalizer bar from someone willing to part with one. I'm not certain to how specific these are to each application, but I have a '64 f100 with a 262 I6. Mine has suffered a catastrophic failure. http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae353/donnkarrie/IMG_7966_zps68mvgctx.jpg

I'm looking for a clutch equalizer bar. Do you have one that you don't need? Thank you.

First drive in the old Ford
I've been away from this site for quite a while. I've enjoyed browsing for a while tonight and checking out the project trucks some are working on. This group of enthusiasts are a great bunch that have been encouraging and helpful to me in the past. Just thought I'd share with you all: We are breaki...

Re: Grandpa's 1964 F100
Your story caught my eye because I also own my grandfather's truck. I used to play with my cousins in the back when we were small and I have loved the truck ever since. I was both excited and honored when he called me and offered to sell it to me (at a price I could not refuse :D ). After considerin...

Re: 262 I6 water pump SOS
Thank you very much, ICEMAN6166! I ordered one tonight. There is a shop in AZ that may have a rebuild kit for the pump, so I'm going to call them this week to check on that. It would be nice to have an extra around.

262 I6 water pump SOS
Has anyone still running their 262 had their water pump rebuilt or replaced lately? Mine has begun leaking and the only lead I can find is a discontinued rebuild from MAC's. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge
The throttle cable has been on the truck ever since I can remember. It makes a nice cruise control when I need to stretch my leg! This is the sending unit I bought for it. The idiot-light sending unit is on the front of the adapter my grandpa set up for his hydraulic gauge: http://i987.photobucket.c...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge
I tried this on my '64. I purchased the correct sending unit and swapped my speedo into the big truck cluster. I never could get that thing to work right, but the Ammeter works great. My voltage regulator was ok, because my other gauges worked fine. I checked and rechecked my wiring and bought anoth...

Re: Tee shirts
I would love to have a couple slick tee shirts. Are there design choices, or are they being narrowed down to one? I'll happily buy whatever becomes available. It is nearly impossible to find a shirt with a slick on it. I found a shirt with a Scout II on it for my brother in law in a gas station once...
