Re: I hate Hollywood.....

Might be too late but...

The Deuce is currently powered by a small block overhead valve engine, Chevy made, with old school Edelbrock finned valve covers and a mid fifties Rochester true tri-power.

Re: American Restoration on History Channel

Found this bit about Rick Dale that includes a little info on Tyler's '65 - LINK Dale bought a 1965 Ford truck for Tyler for graduation. "I tricked him and told him I wouldn't buy it, and I did buy it and brought it home. He was happy," he says. "It's a short-bed, pretty truck." ...

Re: Speedometer Drive Gear Ratio

It depends on the drive gear in the trans; I don't know what it's got but if it's a 6T you'll need a 12T gear, for 7T a 14T gear, and for an 8T a 16T gear. If you remove the speedometer cable you can see the teeth inside the trans. Put a black mark on a tooth and count the teeth as you turn the outp...

Re: MPG's

When I had my '66 I think I maxed out at 13mpg. That was with a 302, 2" straight pipes, 4spd with OD, 3.25 gears and 235/75/15 tires.

I got about a dollar in change from under the seat and found a door handle and weather stripping inside the passenger door.

You'd need a whole lot more HP to take advantage of 3" pipes; 2.5" would be plenty with room for upgrades. I hope yer planning on an H-pipe for extra torque. :)

Another good Craigslist search engine is www.crazedlist.org. The results are just like Craigslist so browsing through is easy.

You should take a look at the J-mod for the 4r70w; quicker shifts, longer service life. And adding a drain plug would be nice too. :)
