Argh!!! Too many decisions!!!
I "need" (want) a 4x4. I work several miles from town and sometimes the roads are bad. I like to fish and play at the lake and the river. I hunt birds, deer and coons. I "need" a 4x4. That's my story and I'm sticking to it... I have a '61 uni shortbed with the 292. Decent shape. ...

Hank's is bookmarked on my favorites. I love looking through those pictures. My dad and uncles all drove truck, my brother drove truck and I drove for a few years before the kiddos came along. Wifey-Poo didn't like the idea of three babies at home and daddy hauling Prill through the mountains... I'm...

Anybody know the wheelbase of a '61 Uni shortbed?
I suppose I could go measure it, but it's cold and rainy and I haven't whined in a while...

'64 F250, long box, 2wd, dually, 4spd w/2spd rear end, Perkins diesel. $2500.00 OR BEST OFFER. I talked the guy selling it and he said his step-dad converted over years ago using an old delivery truck for the running gear. He unlocked the door, hit the kill switch, turned the key and that little Per...

Uncle Skip? I've got a question for you...
I read and reread your article on the Mustang fuel tank. It looks like a darn good way to get the gas out of the cab. My question is... Can this be done on a Unibody without driving yourself completely insane? I like the idea of an under-bed tank, but since it's kinda hard to remove my bed, what sor...

It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's Captain Overkill!
I took the gas tank out from behind the seat in the ol' '61 to do a little clean up, etc. and I decided against putting it back. On the hunt for a new tank. I got, for the low, low price of FREE, a 50 gallon aluminum reefer tank with all the brackets and such. Wow. Looks kinda cool back there, but w...

We've had a bunch of rain lately and I've noticed water on
the passenger side floorboard of my '61. Is there a cowl seal or heater box seal that could be to blame?

Interesting... When I brought it home, I tried to find a rebuild kit for the carb that was on it. After running a bunch of numbers, we came to the conclusion that is was an old Carter that was offered on a '58 Edsel only. Perhaps it's time to look at the casting numbers on the block to see exactly w...

Engine Color
Forgive me if this question's been asked, but... I'm about as smart as a bag o' hammers. I was working on (under) the '61 the other day, and I noticed that my little 292 is funny colored. Top half is orange/Ford Red, but everything else is Caterpiller Yellow. Do you suppose it's weathered orange/For...

I don't know if he drove a lot of dirt roads and things were working loose, or what, but the jack-wagon booger welded damn near everything on the pickup!
What should be a simple task with a screwdriver is now maddening chore with a grinder! ANGRY!!!!
