Re: Who is going to be there, post up and let us know.

Probably Wednesday, unless I break long-standing tradition and drive one of the slicks!
In which case, should make it by Saturday, with any luck and a tailwind!

Re: some (old) sad news

Looks like it may be a repaint from beltline moulding down.Definitely smaller lettering, and the addition of Bill's name.

Beats being "stuck in Salina" with a two year old truck,a fifty year old ASE general cert, and no idea how to relate one to the other!

Oh, well!
My concerns run a bit more toward the “expert” idiots who can’t identify the differences between a pressure differential switch and a proportioning valve, but still insist on answereing brake queries!

Re: stock suspension parts needed

I have plenty of stock springs and will gladly send you a set, just cover shipping! The reality may be that you can probably locate some closer to home for less than shipping costs. A question on my mind is what your caster and camber may look like with the stock springs! Just one of those "wha...

" Blanket statement", ehh? With all due respect to a fellow member, my "opinion"is based on daily fact, as you yourself noted. I have yet to see ANY proof behind YOUR "blanket statements", including the "you are simply wrong!" Don't like the "younger guys...

Re: electronic ignition choices

Just a few caveats, Doc! I have unused HEI clones hanging on a shelf. As a warehouse distributor; I was offered them for around $25 shipped! My thought was, wow, how can they make them, test the quality and ship them halfway around the world for that? Short answer; depend on the end customer for &qu...

Guess that warrants a reply! Without being excessively negative ( for a change); I wouldn't trust ANYTHING found on the current FTE! If you like the half-truths and outright false information that is the basis of Facebook, you'll love FTE, or whatever it's current moniker may be! JMO, as usual, &quo...

Re: What's Happened to this Place?

Hi, Doc! There are still slicks around; I still have 12, although several are returning to original state due to neglect! The supply chain (and prices) have become problematic, and long haul Covid has had an ill effect on my daily life. Beating off spammers on FB forums has become my all-consuming o...

Re: Disc brakes for Twin-I-Beam trucks

Quick update: One of our members had been searching to locate the disc brake booster bracket like those found on the '78/79's. They are proving hard to find these days!In his searching he has found that piratejacks.net sell a similar articulated bracket as well as the complete mastercylinder/booster...

Yes they are widely available in the aftermarket from Wilwood and others. You need the 10 psi versions. They can be plumbed in line.

Check base timing and advance. It sounds as if you may have a mis-match between carb and distributor.

Re: Need brake help..

You don't necessarily need a drum/ drum master; just need to add (or be sure your m/c has) 10psi residual valves to both front and rear systems. These counteract the springs on the shoes to keep the lining in close proximity to the drums.

Re: Here is a. New question

The slicks did not offer factory power assist steering on the light duty leaf sprung trucks.
That being said dealers were known to install the ram type assist for customers.
Part of my business was wrecker conversions; making that installation a very popular dealer option.
