What all do you have to do to put an AOD behind an older model 302? What all do you need? Depends on how "vintage" the engine, pre 82 have a different balance in the flywheel/flexplate - you will need the right one. I am not 100% sure on the converter bolt patterns - if they would be diff...

Paint job question

What's it called when you make a truck paint job look old & faded & rusty looking on purpose?
Where can you find out how to do it?

I appreciate all the replies but I think you've misunderstood what I'm asking here. I'm looking to go the cheapest route I can go & the stock 64 or the Crown Vic is going to be the cheapest routes for me. I deal with a lot of salvage yards & can get a CV for really cheap if thats what I deci...

Max, keep us posted with steering pics! That looks AWESOME!
I'm still debating what front setup to go with. I started looking at the Crown Vic front setup last night. I was originally thinking about flipping the axle.
Either way I have a right nasty 306 for my 64, so this thread really interest me!

Thanks for the picture. This helps me to visualize what it might look like.

As far as a Jag suspension, I'm not really interested. I want to go with an old skool look that's why I'm wanting to find out about this.

How much did this lower it? What did you do to the front?

Thanks for the help here Dan.
So what I'm understanding here is leave the rear the size it is?
I'm thinking about going with a stock looking steel 15" wheel that is widened.
Also what is a 335 tire? Do you me like a 335/60r15 or what?

Thanks Greg! I just got done reading the article you showed me!
I'm kind of thinking about flipping the rear & then cutting it down to fit the widdest wheel & tire combo without moving the springs!

64 Rear suspension options

What options are there for the rear suspension on my 64? Greg has told me about lowering it but what I want is to lower it & do a mini tub with the stock wheel wells. I want to widen the stock wheel tubs & keep the stock rear springs. How big a wheel & tire combo can I go with? What all ...

Greg, nice truck! I'll probably go with flipping the springs as in that one article. I'm into cheap! I'll need to figure out what I want to do with the rear. I want to lower the rear but also widden the tubs for wider wheels & tires in the rear. I have a 9 inch from out of a 79 f100 for it. That...
