Auction in Perry, GA

This is pretty cool. Apparently some old guy stashed away a bunch of cars and trucks, and now they are all being auctioned off. Didn't notice any slicks, but alot of earlier Ford trucks. Here's a link to the website with pictures and more info.

3 speed question.

Will a 1965 light duty 3 speed bolt to a 79 302? I know there were changes in bellhousing design, but don't know when. If not, what about a 1979 3 speed that's connected to a 300 I6?

I have used POR 15 before. I've never used the patching compound for anything larger than pin holes. I know they make a mat that is supposed to get as hard as a rock. If it we're me I would weld in new metal. However, if you don't have access to a welder that would be easier said than done.

Well I'm not lucky enough to have one with power steering or brakes. So far all of the things listed I don't need. Figures don't it! The column is no better that the one in the 65 and I already have a rebuilt 302 waiting to go in. How similar are the wiring harnesses? The one in the 65 is sketchy at...

What's can I use off of a 79 on my 65?

I've got a 79 F-100 long bed that I am going to be parting out. Other than the disc brakes and master cylinder, what can I use on my slick? The 79 is a I6/3 on the tree.

Interior step question.

Why do some trucks have the step in the cab floor. My 65 F100 does not have the step. However, I have seen pictures of others that do.

You need to find a stud welder. I do not know if anyone rents them. They are kinda pricey. Here's a link to Eastwood. I'm sure you can get them cheaper somewhere else. Once you're done pulling the dent, you cut the stem of the stud off, then grind down the the head.

If you have any exterior panels to replace, I would recommend you save them for last. Replace all of your unseen panels first. That way by the time you get to the outside, you have that much more practice. Depending on your time frame, try to make even your repairs that will be hidden invisible. Thi...

You can just swap the brakes without swapping the whole I-beam. Check the tech. articles for an excellent how to.

Classic Trucks vs. Custom Classic Trucks editors build-off.

I thought I would mention to everyone that the editors at Classic Trucks and Custom Classic Trucks are going to have a build-off using a 68 and a 72. I know they're not slicks, but there should be some good articles coming that are pertinent to our trucks. There is also a pretty radical 63 in the ne...

I don't have any more pics of it. I can tell you it has dropped beams w/bags in the front, and a four link (I think) w/bags in the rear.

Chop I might take you up on that offer. Is this as simple a swap as it seems? What's the hidden gremlins in it? Do you have to channel the body? Are you talking about a full channel (floor cut loose) or just a channel around the frame rails? There has got to be more than fabing body mounts and makin...

Crown Vic/LTD Frame Swap Question.

In reference to the Nova subframe post, I have a few questions about the Crown Vic/LTD frame swaps: 1. What years work on a short slick? 2. How much is required to make this work? Body mounts, steering, etc... 3. Will and 84 Town Car work? I have a Town Car that would make a great donor, but if that...

So can you use the whole frame form the LTD? What about a Town Car, are they the same as the LTDs? Does anyone have anymore info on this swap? I have an 84 Town Car that would be a perfect donor.
