Re: tonneau's again

Well I rolled the dice and ordered an Extang black max 2335. This was the only one that had a listed number for a 61-66 long box. I have a long unibody, but after comparing measurements with a non uni, it seemed pretty close. Easy install, nice product. I made 2 small filler pieces for the front of t...

tonneau's again

I know this has come up before, but here goes. I have a lwb unibody and would like a soft cover. The only listing for our trucks that I can find is from Extang. Specifically Black Max #2335. Says 1961-66. Obviously the beds differ. My thinking is I could make small filler plates for the curve at the...

Re: Power Brake Booster Help Needed

This sounds the same as my 7 1/2 dual dis. Booster. Same make. The last 1/2 - 3/4 " sometimes will not return . No binding, has clearance at pushrod. I can only think that the internal vac. Release valve is flakey. Lost my reciept ,so. I am sort of stuck with it. Put on 2 big return springs and ...

Re: There has been a desire for pics to Kids Chop Top.. here

Looks good. I read an artical years ago on doing this. Lots of pics and tips ,but not a word on the windshield. Has the glass been done? I think that would be the diciest part.

Re: Rochester 2g carbs?

Google '2g tripower'. About 4 entries down is a good artical in the hotrod forum with what you want. Is your manifold drilled for rochesters? I have only seen 3 bolt. Ford carb types.

tonneau covers

Re: Crown Vic Under a Uni Questions Or???

Re: 63 unibody Suspension

Check 'Hints and tricks' for Matt's Jag XJ6 front end how-to. Recently did it myself on my 62 . Easy, cheap and the end result is amazing.Good luck!

Hi Matt; I'll try to get som pics going in the next couple of days. I used the Jag pump because I had it ,and I knew that it worked. Not sure if you know about Y blocks and power steering pumps. If you do, forgive my long-windedness,but the info may be useful to someone else. Yblocks use an additiona...

Oil pan

My install is very close to Matt's. We both use the Y block, but my headers are different. We both moved the wheels forward an inch or two. Not sure of the exact figure ;just moved things around untill I liked what I saw.I then made a guage to locate a fixed point so that the crossmember went in strai...

Jag front end

Recently finnished the XJ6 front end swap as seen in Matt2491' s detailed how-to in hints and tricks . Thanks Matt for taking the time to do this. You gave me the courage to tackle this project . I did a tape measure alignment and drove it for a week. Unreal improvement. Took it in today for alignme...

Jag suspension

I'm really liking this swap. Can anyone tell me the difference between the series II and III front clips? I have looked in a Moog parts book and almost every part they list is the same for both. Is there any real advantage in using one over the other ?

Wiper travel

I'm having a rather baffeling problem with my wipers on my 62. They work fine for about half an hour of continuous use and then gradually increase their arc until the blade starts to slap against the lower window seal. There is at least 1" of clearence on start up, so the travel is increasing a...

Jag.suspension

Just finished re-reading Matt2491's exellent piece on Jag series 111 front suspension. Really good. A whole Jag of those years can be had for pretty cheap,so the next obvious question is can the rear suspension be adapted as well ? I have never looked too hard at these cars ,so I have no idea

460 Overdrive

My C6 is getting tired and with 3:54 gears in my Dana ,RPM at 70 mph or so is a tad high. Rather than re-build ,is there a later OD that will handle a strong 460 with a minimum of pain and expense? Thanks

61-64 disc brakes

Forgive me if this has been tossed around lately. After a little trip in my 62 last weekend, the need for some better brakes once again became semi-important. I would like to use as many stock type parts as I can. Nothing against magazine ad stuff, but I'm sure aside from caliper brackets most bits ...

power assist to single I beam

I have just finished puting 70 mustang power assist steering on my 62 Unibody .I had a machinist friend make a new drag link to accept the control valve and made a bracket bolted to the axle/spring U bolt to hold the fixed end of the ram. The other end is attatched to the tie rod.The pump came from ...
