Great news. Got the new chain installed and the 223 runs excellent. Looking at this video, you'll see just how loose it was...

Looking for 223 six engine bolt torque specs
I have a 64 F100 that needs a timing chain (noticed it was really stretched out when I pulled the cover to change the front seal), anyway, I'm wondering if anyone would be able to tell me the torque specs of the sprocket bolt, timing cover bolts and balancer bolt..... Also I've read that the timing ...

Info wanted on diesel swap
I'm looking onto putting a 242 diesel out of a Ford 6000 tractor into a '62 f100 (I've heard the tractors use the 262 straight 6 gas engines and are a direct bolt in). I know it's been done before but just wondered about the bellhousing pattern. Is the 242 diesel the same as a 215/223/262 pattern or...

215 223 262 Alternator converison for under $45, no welding
I realize some of the 61-64s came with an alternator but I couldn't find one for under $200 + $80 regulator so I decided to use an internally regulated GM alternator off a squarebody/G-body/ etc. https://imgur.com/oN7SvL4 https://imgur.com/sjfLdxb https://imgur.com/0itiP1Y https://imgur.com/NVYOq2g ...

Re: Autolite 1100 constant maintenance
Is the diaphragm itself getting a hole in it or does it just start leaking? Sometimes the metal cover can get slightly warped from over tightening which will allow it to leak pre maturely. FWIW I ran a rebuild kit from Mike’s Carburetors and had zero issues with leaking or deterioration. I think th...

Autolite 1100 constant maintenance
Just wondered what everyone else is running. I've got an autolite 1100/Ford carb on a couple of my straight 6s and I keep having to replace the accelerator pump diaphragm every year. Does someone offer an ethanol resistant pump diaphragm that will last a little longer (the blue/green one)?.... Neopr...

Re: 65-72 Wheelbase info needed
Well, so much for this being a fast & easy project. Thanks for confirming the frame differences, I was afraid of that. Looks like I'll be swapping the complete drivetrain onto the 65 since I definitely don't have the fabrication skills to shorten a frame. As for the serial number comment-In Sask...

65-72 Wheelbase info needed
Ok, here's my situation. I have a 1965 F100 long box body & chassis (no axles/suspension,no engine or trans) and a drivable 1969 F100 long box frame/drivetrain (no body). I would like to put the 65 body on the 69 frame but I've heard the 65 has a 2" shorter wheelbase than the 69 & I won...

looking for door mirrors
Looking for mirrors (even just one) for my '64 F100. The little round chrome ones that mount on the doors, not the big grain truck ones. I know LMC has them but they're junk quality so looking for an original even in rough shape. Don't know how to post a picture but my email is dansclassicsandcusto...

Re: Ford 262 vs 223 interchangeable parts?
Thanks, that's the info I was looking for. Looks like I would have to change the cam as well to get the gears to work. I've changed a chain, just wondered if gears were an option.

Ford 262 vs 223 interchangeable parts?
Just trying to get some information on the 262 six engine. From what I understand, it was a heavier duty version of a 223 (obviously having a different bore or stroke) and I believe used timing gears instead of a chain, I'm wondering if the 262 gears will fit into a 223 or if any other parts will in...

64 f100 fuse box diagram
Anyone have a picture of a fuse box diagram for a 64 f100? My truck has had a hard life and the letters of the fuses are worn off and unreadable. Currently just guessing at fuse amperage (used a miltimeter for an estimate ) and curcuits at the moment which really sucks because I don't know what fuse...
