Life safety stuff is not fused.
Headlights.....usually on a large breaker from the factory
Ignition....ballast yes fuse no.
Just about everything else is accessories and can be fused.

Re: Wrong Carb?
I have a carter on one of my 223's and a pertronix in the dizzy, and it performs much better than than the original carb that was professionally rebuilt Petronix does not fix this. Sure it may run better at idle and even rev but it's still the LOM system and it will not properly advance. The solutio...

Re: Best Muffler for FEs? VIDEOS!
I had a 62 Galaxie with 2" maybe 1 3/4 exhaust....whatever the common size was back then...run straight off of cast iron manifolds with the pair of mufflers outboard of the rear axle under the trunk. This was the factory location for resonators. I basically had straight pipes with the class pac...

Re: Recommendations for Body Repair
I think you have 3 choices. 1. Cut the corner off a parts truck and use that. Flashback F100s may have a panel or a parts truck...It's worth a call. 2. Pull it out yourself...I don't think you'll hurt it much. 3. Take it to a shop and have them pull it out......it will have to be a good shop otherwi...

Re: Lmc rear tank
Ok I have to ask a stupid question, why can't you use the factory filler spot with a pipe through the cab floor and sent back down to the tank? Why not just use the stock tank then? It would be much safer. Think about it. Side or rear impact to the bed...tank is compressed or upset violently.....If...

Re: FE Not wanting to start
After a lot of thought, I would tear it down. That just might save the engine. Who knows what you will find. It may be a good thing it has not cranked. I would be concerned about piston to valve contact (some radical pistons were available for FEs) or the possibility of foreign objects in the cylind...

Re: cool car but what about the slick...
Some folks advertise like that on purpose. It's human nature I guess but in some adds the car for sale is not really the ...car for sale. It seems folks are willing to offer more money for a "discovered" car than they would if it had been advertised. http://images.craigslist.org/00e0e_l5nk...

Re: And the walls came tumblin' down!
I was going to suggest a French drain on the yard side of the wall but it looks like there no place for it to drain on the street or downhill end. If there was a storm/curb drain that would be ideal but you do not want your french drain eroding the lower part of the shared drive or the street.

http://www.flat-o.com/carproducts/yblock.htm Note the truck kit has the ears for the truck transmission mount. To answer your question, a C-6 will not bolt up to a Y block with out some type of adapter, it will on FEs as long as it's an FE C6 transmission ......The fellow at the truck show was mist...

Re: 223 single barrel carb to dbl barrel carb
Warning...... The 223 was equipped with a Loadamatic distributor and carburetor. The Loadamatic dizzy was 100% vacuum advance requiring the matching 1bbl carburetor to work the vacuum advance. These components work together. Changing out the carburetor means changing the distributor to a conventiona...

Honestly, you are out of luck. It can be done but....... You can find 50s automatics namely the Fordamatic. Now many think Fordamatics were 2 speed but actually the earlier and better ones were were three speeds but drove like 2 speeds. As with a lot of FoMoCo stuff it's technical  .....you ca...
