I thought my hood was screwed up (the PO told me he thought the hinges were upside down!!! LOL), but then I tried the hood on a few other slicks and they were all the same. At least they never break down, you only need to lift the hood to show off your motor to your friends lol!!! __________________...

For rust is it ok to just remove it and paint over it? Or should I use some kind of rust nuetralizer first? I heard that some kind of acid is good to use on the bare metal before you paint to prevent flash rust but I forgot what kind to use. I'm working on my bed now (the first part) and it is prett...

goonie- stop harassing this man and give him a shipping quote. LOL!!!! But seriously I can tell you I won't order from them either just because of that. I hate clerks that are elitist and lazy, if you don't like to do your job, don't do it, quit and find one you like. _______________________________...

BTW I've found that a light sanding between coats is nothing compared to sanding a car initially or bodywork sanding. Once the truck is straight much less effort is needed because you just sand lightly everywhere, not a lot of thought is required it is more like drying the car. Hope that makes sense...

Tie Rod Swap Straight Axle
Has anyone swapped out a tierod on a straight axle slick? Sounds straightforward to me but any tips or warnings would be appreciated. I plan on buying a tie rod removal tool, by the way. Where can I get a cheap one and are their any brands I should avoid or try to get. THANKS!!! ____________________...

I'm working on my bed right now and was having problems with flash rust, can't you use some kind of acid to prevent this? Not trying to jack your thread Heavyhauler, I thought this info might help. I like your truck too, looks like we're trying to go for the same thing. _____________________________...

Rustoleum Roller Paint Job
Has anyone painted their truck (or car) with a roller brush before? I'm not talking about for rustproofing or maintainence, but a cheap way to get a quality paint job. Hot Rod had an article about in one of their recent magazines and I wondered what some of you guys think. You use a lot of thinner a...

I used to have a car that would only turn left, this sure would have compounded that problem. I had an 81 camaro with those huge doors on it and they would fly open all the time. The door had sagged over the years and the lock mechanism didn't line up. The parts were worn out so I replaced them and ...

I grew up in Texas and it probably is the cheapest place in the U.S. (I love it) I even bought a Subaru station wagon (4x4) there because they were so much cheaper in Texas that it was worth the trip fron Colorado. I think you would be very lucky to get a truck that clean for less than $3000-4000 he...

I know that you allready know this, but get weight off the front, transfer towards the back if at all possible, your goal is equal weight on all 4 tires. Also a locked rear axle will cut down on some spin (duh), but that's a lot of horsepower. If your going to have that much horsepower, your gonna h...
