G'day Alan :D

according to the shelter he's an Australian Cattle Dog / Australian Sheep Dog mix. I'm not too concerned about what he is though, he's friendly, intelligent, just the right amount of energy for me and we get along great :)

Hey Iceman! Ripsnorter has a buddy!

Here's my new buddy. I waited about 3 years to get a dog as I wasn't really in a position to take care of one. Here he is though. I got him from a shelter, about 7 months old. His name is Link, short for Lincoln. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t42/Ripsnortr/Lincoln%20the%20Puppy/57ba3494.jpg htt...

Well, the ones I got last time were: 2.5 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 4 512 MB DDR RAM Asus mini-ATX motherboard with onboard graphics but AGPx8 slot available as the slowest. The fastest one I got, which I actually replaced my main box with, was: 3 GHz Pentium D (socket 775) Dual Core L2x2MB cache, 1 GB D...

What I've been up to... In pictures

I tried to post this last night but the forum died on me. Glad it's back up. Here it is now: Since it's been a while since I've been around, I thought I would update a little on what I've been up to. I finished my shop about a year ago. I think I posted about it when I was building it. It's only 20x...

Since it's been a while since I've been around, I thought I would update a little on what I've been up to. I finished my shop about a year ago. I think I posted about it when I was building it. It's only 20x40 at the moment. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t42/Ripsnortr/P1040397Medium.jpg I was g...

Anyone need a cheap computer?

I went to a going out of business auction about a month ago and bought 4 computers for pretty cheap. They had around 50 there, I could have bought more but I couldn't think of any others that needed cheap computers. I sold all of my extras already to friends, so I don't have any now, but I go to a l...

Forums are having problems still? Having a tough time getting in tonight. Anyway.. I've pretty much decided on the ZF, (I think Hoofbeat meant the NV4500 not NP? which is a 5speed overdrive) The one I have is in an early 90s F250 diesel minus the engine, so it would definately be a diesel tranny. I'...

Hey JC, Greg and Ezer Good to see familiar faces around here As far as the air ride goes, I'm tending to agree with you Ezer. The air shocks are already failing and need to be replaced, plus whatever else would be wrong with the system. I can see it getting expensive before I even slide it under my ...

89 Lincoln Continental drivetrain into '66 F100?

Okay, my other project, aside from the '63 F250 4x4, is the '66 F100. I plan on sticking a 300 I6 in it, and some sort of automatic overdrive tranny behind that. I'm also liking this gear vendors idea. However, a friend of mine has an '89 (I think that's the year) Lincoln continental, the one with t...

The trailer itself is a tandem axle 18 footer carhauler, I think the weight of 2200 on it sounds about right too. The normal heavy load we have is probably in the 8,000lb range, plus trailer, so 10,000+ gross on the trailer on a heavy run. The heaviest I've ever seen it have was probably 15,000 to 1...

after a little bit of research... NP4500 is a 4 speed non-overdrive isnt it? and it seems that Gear Vendors will indeed add an over to the overdrive, making it double-overdrive. According to the specs on their site : m The ZF stock has a 0.76 overdrive ratio, and with Gear Vendors added it will brin...

The nice part about that ZF is it's such a heavy duty tranny with an overdrive. I'm not sure what the ratios are in it though, or how much it will drop the RPMs in overdrive. Anyone have any experience with towing in overdrive on those? I know when I borrowed my dad's AOD I never dared have it in OD...

Best gas mileage towing drivetrain for my F250 4x4?

Okay, I'm getting a bit serious about finally tearing into my '63 F250 Flareside. I need some advice (since I'm not just thinking theoretical anymore) on what I should do for a drivetrain. Right now it's stock with no drivetrain at all. I have an '81-2 F250 4x4 that I plan on ripping the 4x4 (probab...

Hello again folks!

Been a long time :)

Just dropping in as I haven't posted in far too long.

Still fiddling in my shop, I'm thinking in a couple months I might actually start tearing into my '62 4x4 conversion project too :D

And if Iceman is around, how's my namesake doing? :D

I was hoping they would stamp it on the end, do all manufacturers do that? in other words if its factory will it just not be stamped?

I'm glad you brought this up as I was wondering about buying a Cloyes timing set for my 460 just the other day. However I have no clue what has been done to this motor, (its in my '77 F250) and I'm not sure if it already has an aftermarket cam, timing set or anything else in it, or if its just stock...

What a Couple of Beauties!

I think I drooled over my keyboard, monitor, and about every other thing on my desk. Black has always been my favorite color too, and while it may be hard to keep clean, it sure does look darned impressive. m http://www.classiccarstudio.com/images/auction/1210/2.jpg http://www.classiccarstudio.com/i...
