Re: Emergency / parking brake handle stuck - 61 f100
I got the whole front e-brake assembly out, including the handle. Got the cable freed up and cleaned. Soaking a bracket and various bolts etc in a bit of vinegar to loosen up some rust before reassembly.

Re: Emergency / parking brake handle stuck - 61 f100
Thanks I'll pick up some of that. I crawled under the truck again and the rubber on the end of the tube is fairly soft, so hopefully that's good. The clip is a little corroded in place, but that shoube be easy enough to get off. I was able to disconnected the tail end of the cable itself. It's a one...

Re: Emergency / parking brake handle stuck - 61 f100
Thanks My vote is soak that outer housing profusely, With what? Silicone spray? Or rust disolver ? I think the c clip could be slipped off without too much trouble. And disconnecting the bottom end of the cable should be easy enough, I think can pull the Connector for the rear cables enough bu hand ...

Re: Emergency / parking brake handle stuck - 61 f100
Well I dug around a little more and suspect this is the problem.
This is where the front cable leaves the protective tube. Safe to take a wire brush to those fittings to get a better idea of what's going on?

Emergency / parking brake handle stuck - 61 f100
I searched here for an answer to this ? and didn't find one. I did see a Youtube video about replacing the cable, but that didn't anser my issue. I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure out what's wrong / how to use the hand brake on my 61 f100. OK, to begin with I've owned this truck for 16 years...

Tomrooster; Thanks for the info.
It does seem like the seats may be just to big. Seems like you and Toyz ran into similar issues and I might as well.
Darn it!

Re: Seats with Integral Seat and Shoulder Belts.
So a little more digging around and I see that 2002 - 2006 (& maybe later) F150 Super Cab and some regular cab trucks had intergrate seat/shoulder belts.
They look pretty thick though.
Maybe I can find some to measure to see if they'd fit a Uni.

I thought I had seen something like that, but haven't been able to sort it out.jeepbut wrote:Wasn't there an F-150 seat from around 2007 or so that had the shoulder straps built in? It seems they were less bulky than the Chevrolet seats. Thanks, Lyman.

Re: Seats with Integral Seat and Shoulder Belts.
Yeah, I wondered how much room they'd take compared to a stock seat. Right now my truck has some aftermarket seat that leaves a lot to be desired. My favorite bucket seats (from a style perspective) are those from a 64 - 66 Thunderbird, which I think would look great in the truck if they fit, but th...

Seats with Integral Seat and Shoulder Belts.
I'm thinking of using a set of Chevy seats that have the seat belts and shoulder belts built in. Silverado pickups and some other models had seats like this.
Seems like an easy way to get shoulder belts.
Anyone tried this or have any advice?

Re: Dennis Carpenter Unibody Tailgates
I wonder if that's (the 66-19/32) not the width of the gate.I am not sure what the 19/32 stands for,66 is the body style
I measured mine and its 66-9/16 wide with paint on it.

This is on my list too. My bed floor isn't all that bad, but straighter would be nice.

Re: rear ended by a toyota
I drive my Uni without a rear bumper, and worry about this happening.
Pretty amazed at the little damage on the truck compared to the Toyota.
No fun though. I had paint matched with one of those camera/computer things and got a great match on color.

1961 Slick Wheel Sizes
So I'm digging around in my copy of the 1961 Ford Truck Operators Manual and I come to a section listing all sorts of specifications. Among them is a Load Capacities chart. For the F100 are the following Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight and the next column front tire sizes. 2 Wheel Drive 4,000 - 6.70 x ...

I use dryer sheets in my Uni and my Falcon convertible and it seems to work fine. In the Falcon I put a couple in the boot (on a sheet of plastic), tuck a couple behind the rear seat backrest, a couple under the rear seat and a couple under the front seat. In the Uni I put a couple behind the seatba...
