That tailgate will probably be factory straight and in mint shape, but nobody will ever get it because it's attached to that heap of rust. It's just how things are in life. See my avator for explanation of my world view.

Thanks Ras. You wouldnt happen to have the NAPA box still would you?
Hey Chris, be gentle on that old beast. If we cant find anything for a kit I'll have to see what a rebuilt is worth. Check the parts for sale section for something within a thousand miles of you.

At least they havnt tried to drop a 350 in it.
I cant believe how many nice rods I find and some turkey ruined it for me.
I think its a plot by GM lovers to use up all the good Ford iron. They even use 9" rears in the che**'s I see.
I now understand your frustration JC

Here are some pics of the carb. If you have rebuilt this one (65 300 I6) and you have the number for the kit, let me know. I cant find any numbers on the body that mean anything.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. I may have an old carb that doesnt show the numbers we're looking for.
There is only a few small casting numbers llike "26" on the carb body and a few in other places. My son will post pics of the carb soon so we can maybe get some more ideas.

Carb rebuild kit. Identification of carb

Someone removed the tag from the carb on my 65 F100,300 I6 (Standard trans, no power brakes). It's original to the truck but I cant order the rebuild kit without this info. Anyone have a common make part number for this kit so I can order it. Or does anyone have the info for this carb? It's just a s...

Well Thanks everyone! I wont ship the 65 up here, it still needs too much body work and there are no facilities up here (population 800, that includes the Bison) I left my son enough equipment to probably finish the truck and he's an electronics installer so If he does play with it he'll trick it ou...

Heat with a lighter for about 5 to 7 seconds at a time, try very slight twisting pressure with pliers. when it gets hot enough it will ju...

Hey Ice It's -43 in Fort Providence NWT today, and that's the high for today! If you had told me 2 months ago I would be living in a place that was that cold, I would have shot you (or myself). Now that I'm here it's not so bad, you just find reasons to stay inside! Guess I better change that tag line

Nice job as for distances What do you mean you live the farthest north? Do you mean farthest north with a running truck? I will be giving up my farthest east (in North America) designation and moving to nearly farthest north (Fort Providence NT) in January. Again nice job on that truck, sorry about ...

You could probably get a good buck for the running nailhead. I hear a running Buick engine of that vintage is somewhat rare. Then the truck is worth building but it would only work at around 2000. $1995. for the truck and 5 bucks for the Buick

Take the whole vent frame out, there is a spring and nut at the bottom of the vent for removal but the whole frame with rubber must come out first (tricky if you havn't done it before. (Know an auto glass installer with experience?) Easy to scratch the paint if your not good at it.

Do NOT use silicone on any metal object. Most silicones are an acid cure. There are some that are strictly air dry but they are useually the stuff we tend to not buy because it takes awhile to dry and has less strength. Anyways, I've seen people seal thier windshields enough times with silicone. Six...

Could be used as a fanny pack for those of us with no room up front. But you would have to get used to drinking under pressure. :) Shotgun beer anyone?
