Re: 1966 f100 mustang IFS
I agree on Porterbuilt. Very high quality parts, designed for a truck. I bought the chevy cross member before they started working on fords. I will be building the rest of the frame off that. http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo75/96charger/truck/e519a26b-dcd0-4738-8adf-a790d3dad51c_zpsb2963926.jpg

Re: OD tranny for a 352...
I will be using a 5 speed out of a 1993-ish F-250. It's a ZF S-42. Low 1st and reverse gears, with overdrive. It bolted right up to my 300. Does the 352 have the same bell housing pattern?

Re: My build
After gathering parts all summer, I'm starting to work on the truck again. I bought an extreme drop member from Porterbuilt Fabrication. It's built for the Chevy trucks, but that doesn't really matter because I'll be building the rest of my frame with box tubing. This cross member came with tubular ...

Where are you at? I've got a Dana 60 with 3.73's that I can give you. I just picked up a 9" for my truck. It won't be that big of a change, but its free. I'm on Long Island.

Re: c10 subframe??
I bought a custom C10 drop member from Porterbuilt for my '66. Top notch quality stuff. Wish I would have waited for the ford version, but I will be building the rest of the frame for mine.

Re: Swapping Gears 9in
If the axle won't come out, bolt on an old rim and hit it with a bfh. I always put the brake drum as a slide hammer. Put the drum on backwards, screw 3 lug nuts on for only a few threads and pull the drum towards you for a few quick shots. Also, make sure the yoke for the U-joint is the same. They ...

Re: hotrod six
I've tried a bunch of different manifold / carb / header combinations. I've always put the carb on 'sideways' as it made it easier to set up the throttle cable. I've settled on the clifford intake, holley 2 barrel and stock split exhaust manifolds from the fuel injected six. Here's the 390 four barr...

Re: Few pics of our newest toy!
That is a beautiful car you built! I would love to race on dirt, but there aren't any dirt tracks near me. I drove a street stock for a few years, tried a sport modified for a little while and then got into the Legend cars last year. These little cars are the most fun I've had driving. They're affor...

Re: Few pics of our newest toy!
That was a very informative answer! I needed every inch of deck space, and them some more. I sold one car this winter so I don't need all that space anymore. I bought a winch for my trailer a while ago, but haven't gotten around to mounting it yet. What did / do you race? http://i363.photobucket.com...

Re: Few pics of our newest toy!
Very nice trailer. Why did you choose to have the tool boxes on the deck and not on the tongue? I had a similar box on my trailer and ended up taking it off to have more deck space.

Re: 5 speed for a straight 6
I will be hauling / towing about 3500 pounds weekly. And I like to enjoy an occasional burn out. :steering: I would like the lower first and reverse gears of the ZF for manuvering my trailer around. After a quick search on craigslist, there seems to be more ZF's than M5's available and they are goin...

5 speed for a straight 6
I would like to put a 5 speed behind my 300. It seems like the two obvious choices would be a M5OD or ZF S5. Has anyone here used one of these? Is there another good option I should look at? I am leaning towards the ZF because it seems a little more heavy duty. M5OD-R2 ratios 1 - 3.91 2 - 2.24 3 - 1...

Found this on craigslist. Think this was built from scratch? Or did he start with the big truck valance?

Re: Cab weight
Not sure how much it weighs, but I had to lift mine off by myself. I built a fixture so I could use my engine hoist. Here are some pictures. http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo75/96charger/truck/2013-02-03134832_zps369ba052.jpg http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/oo75/96charger/truck/2013-02-051717...
