Re: my shipwrecked '63
weirdly enough i had a harder time with the rear wheel disc brakes then the front. i still need more daylight and sunshine to finish hooking up the ebrake cable (using my original ones which were brand new). https://i.postimg.cc/6pzN2hVq/20240517-070450.jpg my back is jacked up, my shoulder is jacke...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Are you going with a power brake master cylinder? yes. I bought one. Haven't installed yet. Forecast called for rain all day, by 2 it still hadnt rained so i fee like i wasted my entire day. so I went out and took a look at adding a trailer hitch. But wait- there's more! Knocked myself in the face ...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
I spent some money (not spent on port calls in Australia or Fiji etc) on the speedway disc brake set up. I originally didnt intend to do this mod, but after driving around town a bit, people here are stupid and i had to slam on my brakes a few times to avoid a collision. Put stick shift and drum bra...

Re: What's Happened to this Place?
You know what- despite the face books..... we all just got too busy with made up responsibilities. I am guilty. I decided to retire because i was no longer willing to do the things the CG told me to do, and that i would have to tell my junior guys to do. That was it. Onward to more projects. If i ha...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Been home two weeks now and have taken Shipwrecked out to stretch the legs a few times. Lots of lookie lues and thumbs up! Have about 200 miles on the engine since I rebuilt this truck. Tracks nice when I let go of steering wheel, but I am still getting an alignment on it tomorrow. I drove over to t...

Re: retired!
I am building from scratch. I am going to build my own trailer frame, install axle and then build the camper on top. Way cheaper than paying a off the shelf camper. Plus I can customize it my way. Check out OregonTrailR on youtube. He makes some nice teardrops- i am making one similar but not at his...

Re: retired!

Somehow i survived the 25 years of service. it's over. I hopped on a plane the other day in Honolulu and flew back to VA and started my terminal leave. I am on leave until end of July then I will be unemployed on a fixed income. I have no solid plans. Maybe go to school. maybe apply for a GS job in ...

looking forward to moving on. it's like i know the relationship is over, but this is the time we have to "work it out" for a bit.

If you didnt catch it on facebook- i put in to retire from the Coast Guard in August 2024. which means i would go on leave in mid april and come back from honolulu and be on vacation till 1aug. July 21st 2023. I lost my Diesel. he was just shy of 16 years old and I was away. Thankfully my dad was able to call and be on the phone while I talked to the vet about what to do. Diesel died at 11pm. I am thankful I was able to take him for his ride in the F100 in May before I departed for Baltimo...

Re: Steering Box Rebuild
I did a rebuild service order through rockauto.
Lares Corporation offered the service so I shipped my steering box to them, and they sent it back. I spent like 80 shipping, but like 250 on the rebuild. That was 8 years ago.
