Re: 66 shutters and shakes pretty hard

I'm thinking its the center bearing. I haven't had a chance to get out and check it, but it is VERY VERY similar to what you are describing aswell.

I hope to at the very least get a peak at it this weekend. I'll be sure to let you know what I come up with

Re: 66 shutters and shakes pretty hard

after talking to some more people here at work, I'm leaning more towards the carrier bearing. I don't feel it much in the steering and in my wind imaginative head it seems like its a drive shaft deal.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'll check tonight and let you know what I find!

66 shutters and shakes pretty hard

Hey all! I've been driving my 66 pretty much everyday with no issues! The ol girl turns over and runs like a champ every morning! Recently I've noticed that she shutters and shakes pretty aggressively when i hit around 35-40 mph. She has new tires that are balanced so I don't believe thats it. If I ...

Re: 1966 Floors and shoes

Thanks guys! I actually got the carpet from Stock Interiors. Can't say enough good things about it. I went ahead and added the extra matting and am very pleased with the sound attenuation and overall fitment of the carpet!

Re: 1966 Floors and shoes

THanks Rick! I know the red is overdone, but I've always wanted red rims so I decided to treat myself! I appreciate the kind words! Floor is so much nicer! I was getting tired of wearing googles while I drive.

1966 Floors and shoes

So I've been really enjoying the heck out of my daily driver. Even in the heat I just love it! Something about feeling the engine hearing all the noises and of course seeing everyone's reaction to it. The other day while driving home from work, I threw a belt on my right front tire. This prompted me...

Re: Rust prevention

I've always used POR15 and have had good results. Honestly I haven't used anything else, but I really like the ease and final product of POR so I haven't had much desire to try others.

Anything specific your looking for?

Re: LED tail lights for my flair side

Great idea man! I'll be anxious to see how this goes! You just can't deny how bright and efficient LED's are. Plus they have become so much more reasonable in price. I'll be following and hopefully someday soon I will get brave enough to venture into the wiring world. Thanks for sharing and keep up ...
