Re: Cob Webs . . . Tumbleweeds
I still check in a few times a week. I don't do Facebook. This was the place to go a while back.

Re: Been a while.......
Hi Greg, I haven't seen you on here in a long time and I don't do Facebook. Good to hear from you. You must've sold your unibody too. I've still got my truck and the rear bumper I got from you a long time ago.

another interesting truck.
I never knew there were Edsel trucks. I saw this one in a museum in Phoenix. Ford trucks were painted white and green, badged as Edsels and shipped to Edsel dealers. I looked on the web for photos of F100 and F250s, but could only find the larger trucks. https://flic.kr/p/2ofYuxE https://flic.kr/p/2...

Re: Lower grille valance color
I seem to remember this topic coming up quite a few years ago. I don't recall what the conclusion was though. It seems to me most lower valances are painted the lower body color. A Google image check shows that appears to be the case.

Re: 1961 F100 4wd Fender shenanigans
By saying fender aprons are you meaning inner fenders? If so, here goes; 1961 to 1966 all 4x4 inner fenders are the rounded type except 1966 f100 4x4 inner fenders which are angular or squared off. For the 4x2s F100-F250 1961-1964, they are the rounded type while 4x2 1965-1966 F100-F250 are angular....

Re: Polished 15" 5x5 1/2 Crager style wheels
I bought four Crager SS wheels for my Fairlane from Jegs five or six years ago. Theirs was the best price I could find back then. I don't remember the price though.

Re: Non Slick 4 x 4 conversion question
I would agree that swapping bodies would be the best route. A great resource that will explain 4x4 vs 4x2 differences as well as steering column swaps, is fordification.com. The guy knows his stuff on bumpsides. He's also a member here though I haven't seen him post here for a while. Send us photos.

Re: Windshield gaskets?
I used Carpenter many years ago for all the door and window rubber on my truck. I've had zero problems and recall my installer saying the windshield rubber was the best he'd seen. No idea if they've changed since I bought it, but if I had to install new window rubber I'm certain it would be from Car...

Visited a nice salvage yard yesterday
Yesterday, a friend and I visited Doug's 4 Wheelers just outside of Pella Iowa. He's got dozens of Slicks in the rolling hills as well as many other makes and years of trucks and some cars. I didn't have my phone so no photos, but worth a look. I didn't see any unibody tailgates, but he did have a h...

Re: wiper motor problems
I finally got a chance to work on this yesterday. Still no progress. The problem is with the adjustable arm that comes off the motor. I don't see any other external adjustments. The Carpenter unit is a nice unit, I'm just having trouble setting it right. Thanks to all for your help. I'll keep at it ...

wiper motor problems
I've owned my truck for 19 years. In that time, I've never had dependable working wipers. When I first got it, the wipers wouldn't stop so I just unplugged the switch and plugged it back in when it rained. I pulled the wiper motor and mounting bracket found they were from a 50s era ford truck so I p...

Said to be a rare unibody 4x4
The topic of unibody 4x4s used to come up here every once in a while, though no one has ever shown me one that could be verified as genuine. This one is not genuine. So many things don't add up to being a 4x4 that I'm not sure where to start. It's a cobbled together unfinished truck they are asking ...

Fastback Mustang and early Bronco rant
So I've been casually looking around for a 65-68 Mustang fastback or an early Bronco for my next project. Two things strike me right away in searching for both vehicles. First, the crazy high prices people are asking and apparently getting. I get it, they don't make them any more (well actually they...

I saw this a while back and wondered how it turned out. I will never live anywhere where someone can tell me what I can drive or how to paint my house. HOAs do serve a purpose for some people, but they are not for me.

Re: steering wheel refurb?
Just a guess here on my part, the entire wheel was probably beige and that fifty some years of use has worn it away. I've refurbished several steering wheels. I wound thin wire around the wheel to fill in larger gaps and then two part epoxy to fill in the cracks. I found that using a small fine V sh...

Re: Split Unibody on 4x4 frame
A couple things stand out when I look at the front end. 1961s to 1964s had three bolts holding on the front bumper. 1965s and 1966s have two. This bumper has two. The lower valance appears to be of the 4x2 type, the flat type. 4x4s and F350s have the vertical lower valance (with the usual 66 F100 4x...
