Re: ANOTHER One of those E-bayer crooks
maybe sometime during the last 50 years the drivers door was replaced with an F250 door, and the dealer, or his lot boy who probably gets stuck taking pics and entering info for eBay listings just entered the VIN from the door tag when listing it and not the one on the title??? someone who really wa...

I did U-Pol Raptor in body color, Grabber Blue, two years ago and it still looks great.

Re: Steve's 64 Short-bed Project
That is a deal, I paid $139 plus about $30 for the gasket. I had to pick up the glass at a glass shop and install it myself. It was quite easy to do though.SteveCanup wrote:Local glass shop quoted $130 plus $85 to install. I am saving my pennies...

Re: Grandpa's 1964 F100
I have a 1964 F100 also, and I actually do not mind the straight axle. I did put a Speedway disc brake kit on the front, for consistent safe stopping. I am leaving my straight axle in place, I feel it makes the truck feel, well like an old truck. I am not against the Crown Vic swap, it's just not my...

This show (hopefully) wont last past one season. There was probably 6 minutes devoted to the "restoration" in the 42 minute show. They plasma cut some bed floor, then POOF it was painted and done. Stupid show for a stupid general public.

Re: First Truck Noob - 223 idle problems
Sounds like a carb issue, rebuild it, clean it while rebuilding. Check every passage with compressed air, low psi, to ensure it's not plugged. Do only one thing at a time, and be sure it's right before moving on to another problem. good luck

Re: Installed a New Windshield Today
I did do this alone. The gasket is the key to weather or not you'll be able to it alone. The LMC gasket is wider and VERY hard to work with, the MACS gasket (made by Precision) was narrower and seemed more pliable. Starting at the top center worked well for me, and I just took my time.

Re: Installed a New Windshield Today
My truck came with the stainless windshield trim originally, I decided it would look better without it since I have very little chrome on the truck. Like you said, it is easier to install the windshield without the trim. I should probably sell the trim I have on ebay, I'll never use it.

Re: Installed a New Windshield Today
Windshield installed! I spent a little time working the gasket to make sure it was seated on the pinch weld everywhere. Then cleaned my hand prints off, put the wipers back on, and cleaned up. Total time spent was about 2 1/2 hours, this is way faster than my last install with the LMC gasket that fo...

I used paint sticks to push the old gasket over the pinch weld, and remove the scratched windshield http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad94/boatparts/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG0905_zpszdudlgxh.jpg The top of the windshield is free, I then just pushed it out and lifted it out of the truck http://i925.phot...

Installed a New Windshield Today
I found an eBay seller with new windshields for my 1964 F100, for only $139. I bought it and it took about 10 days for it to arrive at their local warehouse for pickup. It was about a 30 minute drive to the warehouse from my house. I made a bubble wrap nest in the back seat of my F150 so I could get...

VERY nice work, I really like the engine colors. Are you keeping the generator? The generator looks cool, but really lacks in power vs an alternator.

Re: '62 F250 Monster Hauler build
There is a seller on ebay (user ID wbmesq) who sells PPG paint, DBU and Deltron DBC, his prices are excellent. DBU or DBC will give you way more coverage than OMNI. You can use any compatible clear, I used Transtar, and some other brand that I forget the name of with great results. I bought from him...

Thanks for the compliments. I am a professional firefighter, and have been working on cars since age 13, helping my father when he painted cars in the garage. I have no plans to paint the tailgate letters, mainly because I think it wouldn't look right on my truck, although I do like the painted lett...

Re: 64 F100 Automatic shift steering column
Why can't a 65 or newer column be used? Isn't it possible to remove the 65 steering shaft from the auto column, and then slide the automatic column shell over the 64 steering shaft?? Seems like that would be a simple solution, if possible. This was going to be my plan but I decided to keep the 3 spe...
