The 64 has a y block and COM. I can post a pic but I dont know if it will be of any help.
I took a dremal to the pin, all that did was wear out the dremal bit.

Re: Shift Lever Removal
Im not following you. I need to remove the AT shift lever from the collar so I can replace the detent plate and TS cam. The shift lever is held on with a drift pin, apparently made of hardened steel. I have tried several times the past year to get the pin out. It will not budge, all Im accomplishing...

Shift Lever Removal
Ive been trying off and on to remove the automatic shift lever on my 64 F100 for over a year. It will not stay in park and the neutral safety switch was disconnect by the PO so he could start it. I have the parts to fix it and repair the TS swich as well. I can not get the drift pin to budge. Ive WD...

5.0 vs 5.7
Ive decided to yank the 292/COM out of my 64 and put in a 302 or 351 with a C4. No interest in an AOD. Which engine? Both short blocks run about the same money. I want to run a roller cam. I would do aluminum heads with a mild cam, 500 or 600cfm carb. Shoot for 8.5-9.0:1 compression. Im keeping the ...

292 C4 conversion
The AT in my 64 is leaking a lot of fluid. I have no idea what the history is on the truck.
Im thinking about doing a C4 conversion.
My truck is an original 292/AT, so it has the green dot indicator.
Should I stick with the green dot valve body on the C4, or does it make a difference?

Re: Transmission Rebuild
There is an AOD adapter available. The OD is nice but I don't really need it. Straight axles like to ride at 60-65mph and that's not a heavy load on a 3.25 rear end with a 1:1 tranny ratio. A C4 will do fine behind a lopo 292. II would like to keep it as original as possible, but I fear I will spend...

Transmission Rebuild
Whats the chances that I will find someone that can get the parts and has the skills to rebuild the AT in my 64 F100? Am I better off in the long run to buy the adapter and convert to a C4? If I go the C4 route will I need a 64-66 greendot valve body to use my column shifter, or does it matter? Ive ...

New leaf springs
My new front leaf springs from General Spring in KC arrived today. Two, 6-leaf springs with bushings for $310 shipped to my front door. My plan is to drop the front end 2-3 inches and the rear end 3-5 inches. For $200 a shop will reverse the eyes in the new springs. For free, I could remove a leaf o...

Re: Rear Spring Hangers
I have a Flare bed so I shimmed it up and installed the longer shackles. Fits and clears the bed fine. I guess the next step is to flip the front hanger. I ordered a set of new front springs this morning, when those arrive I will install them and adjust the rear ride height off the front height. Hop...

Rear Spring Hangers
Am I correct that the 65+ DJM rear hanger/shackle kit does not work on a 64 due to the rear spring hanger being different? If I put a 65-72 rear spring hanger on my 64, could I use the 65-72 hanger/rear shackle kit to lower my 64? Anyone have a set of 65-72 rear spring hangers gathering dust? Am I m...

Spring Sag
Yesterday I installed the 2 in Crown lowering shackles on my 64 short flareside, 292/AT. Before and after installation the truck leans to the right. The lean is 1.5 in on the front and 1/2 in on the rear. This leads me to believe that the lean is being caused by the front springs. I don't see any in...

67 was a one year only m/c.
Is there a reason why you want a 67? Most use a 68+.

Re: Suspension and brakes upgrade: I've been busy.
The brake upgrade can be done manual or power. On a straight axle, manual is easier since they never came with a power brake option.
I would like to drive a truck with a manual disc/drum setup to see how it performs.
All the kits for 61+ that I have seen are 5x5.5

Very nice.
What size tires are you running?
Did you have to modify the firewall to install the booster?
Did Sid do kingpins, drop tie rods and center link for you?

Re: Oil Pressure Sending Units
Crawled under the truck this morning to start the new gauge install. As I was removing the plumbing for the mechanical gauge I noticed a second plug in the block. Could that go into the oil galley as well? I would be able to run each sending unit into the block and eliminate two pieces of plumbing. ...
