Re: dana 60 or dana70 swap
the gears have no affect to the posi unit. you would be fine installing it in the my question is the gear for the truck. there are ratio caculators online. to see the correct gear for your slick.

Re: Tires
you can do what alot of rat rodders are doing. im not saying it is safe. but get a set of raised white letters and buff them down with a sander. there are quite a bit of you tube vids on it. you can get a used set for 150 bucks or so. may be a option. it cant be any worst than the old lady scuffing ...

Re: 5 speed swap questions
the 240 is the same bell bolt patern that the 300, 302 and 351w use. but still need 2 trans to do the mods. nice job on your conversion.

Re: 5 speed swap questions
so the t5 is possible. but more work than the m5r2 and the t177 4 speed. im leaning to the m5r2 for 3 reasons.
first extra gear.
second hyd clutch. it can be a pita but they operate smooth as silk.
third very plentiful.= cheap $$$$$

Re: 5 speed swap questions
i did a t5 swap in my 66 mustang it was easy. the t5 swap in a pickup will require 2 trans to work. one from a ford and a 1 from a chevy. and marry the 2. there is a how to article on the hamb. i would still need to mod the crossmember and the shaft. but the t5 you can retain your stock linkage inst...

ok i know there are drop axles. for around a grand. a little steep for a 1500 truck. so options. i dont have the means to segment a front clip off. so a bending the stock axles or using a f350 straight axle. now for the rear. flipping the axle. i have read that the frame would need to be not...
