Re: Body line matchup on a '66

i leveled mine during my recent do-over. loosened up the cab mounts and the bed the jacked both up till the body line was straight. almost a half inch on both cab and bed to get it right. i used washers with thin plastic discs between frame, cab and bed to eliminate sqeeks. looks so much better, tak...

Re: truck finally done

i was fortunate to have the original for a pattern. i used a 4x8 sheet of fiberglass tub surround, it was white, bendable, cheap, textured, easy to cut and form. the only problem is the fiberglass smell on hot days, but i'm sure it'll be gone by next spring. i'll try to get some pics soon.

Re: headliner

i used my old headliner to make my new one, made it so much easier. i did make some extra braces so it'll not sag like the origional did.

Re: truck finally done

the wheels are from a 92-96 f150. i really wanted that particular wheel and watched craigslist for 3 months before i saw a decent set, then they only set me back $100. i did buy a set of repop center caps from lmc, but they look great. when i get around to the disc brake conversion, i'm thinking abo...

Re: truck finally done

ok, let me clarify what "done" means. i bought this truck last fall, from an older gentleman who'd bought it about 10 years ago. it was complete, driveable, but hadn't been driven much since he'd owned it, and i did drive it home. didn't do much last winter except strip and polish all the ...

Re: What's your story?

always loved the fastback mustangs, even as a little kid. when i got old enough to own one, it was around the mid seventies, so there were still quite a few around. bought a 67 that needed a clutch, and despite no prior automotive experience, i put one in. things snowballed from there, i got a job w...

not origional, but those really big plastic pop rivits will hold those peices together nicely. those big push pins work fine too.

Johnny
yep, old rr truck. the shifter is for a reverser, it gives you forward or reverse in every gear. if you gotta' back up 10 miles it's a handy feature, no turning around on rr tracks.

heat should do the trick.

fyi, i have seen some nylon/plastic kingpin bushings in some tib's. heat wouldn't be a good idea with those.

Re: Adding door jamb switches for the dome and courtesy ligh

i ran a new constant hot wire to the light. at this point i haven't tied into the headlight switch so i can't turn the light on except by opening the door. i'll probably do that soon with a grounding relay thats energized by the headlight switch dome light power.

Re: Adding door jamb switches for the dome and courtesy ligh

just did this to my truck, i got the parts from a 79. the door jamb switches were too short to contact the door, so i got new ones. the brand was "standard" and the were much longer, and self adjust to the door the first time you close it. $6 each, work great. they take the same 7/16+ hole...
