Glad to hear you found a bigger place to work on the Merc. Let me know if you'd like a hand.

Re: My 62 shortbox build
I've been looking at Mark VIII IRS setups. There is a little info on the site here but I'm looking for more. I have a line on a low mileage setup and trying to decide if it's the way to go. http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m547/mercuryguy63/1962%20F100%20Unibody/b817a9e2fa93ea524ac23abaff8739ae_z...

Lost my best friend today.
Lost my best friend and car rides buddy today. He would jump in the truck to go for a "car ride" no matter where I was going. Even after all the times going to the veteranarian hospital for chemo and radiation he still wanted to go. http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m547/mercuryguy63/Jak...

83% mostly wrong year. I did hit the wrong button and called the Studebaker a Hudson. Looks like Slick4x4 is giving me a pass though.

Is this what you are looking for? It's on a parts truck I have.
I'm not sure what it's from, thought it might be Ford.

That's what I'm afraid of. Small price for having a cool looking truck.

I like the idea, it looks right to me. What gas tank did you use?

Had to see it with the front clip stuck on. It's the first time since I've owned it that it's been this complete.

Re: My 62 shortbox build
Got it back down on the ground today. Looks great to me. I'm really impressed with how it went together and the finish of the supplied parts. http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m547/mercuryguy63/1962%20F100%20Unibody/f9d11becc57918cddd1f609425c38343_zpstjxgxrqf.jpg I see that Industrial Chassis is ...

A little more progress today. Disassembly and test fitting some crusty Dakota parts. http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m547/mercuryguy63/1962%20F100%20Unibody/26db9fa583e64f72b40c832a3c80c8f6_zpstj9oaixy.jpg New springs. http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m547/mercuryguy63/1962%20F100%20Unibody/3...

Re: My 62 shortbox build
I take it you aren't happy with the current setup? A buddy of mine is trying to convince me to put in a four link and coil overs. He says I will be much happier with the ride.

Re: My 62 shortbox build
I've been thinking of flipping the axle. How did you handle the shock issue? I wonder if the Fatman Fabrications or Airbagit kits would be a good idea.

I like the idea that I could maintain some load capacity.

Re: My 62 shortbox build
Made some progress today, I was able to get the crossmember tacked in. As soon as I am able to pick up my Dakota parts I will be able to finish the install. http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m547/mercuryguy63/1962%20F100%20Unibody/3e8039c7f0c39909f8dc7e7a799078aa_zpssumdjw0e.jpg Still a long way t...
