I am in the process of replacing cam bearings on my 66 352. The freeze plugs came as a kit, along with the cap for the rear of the cam. ( back of block) I got the brass ones. Don't know if they are any better.

I agree, it would be a good idea to pull the oil pan for an inspection. Also to see there's anything else in there. Hopefully it will cool down to the low 90's later this week.

Great looking truck Alan. There is Media information that Ford is going to re-lease the Ford Ranger again here in the US in the 2018 model year. GM is having great success with their mid size Colorado series. Sure wish I could get a Diesel Crew Cab Ranger. Enjoy your new truck.
