'63 Custom Cab Trim Piece Removal?

I have a '63 Custom Cab with the aluminum trim running the entire length of the truck - the trim that has the 1/2" wide red tape stripe down the middle. I see all the pieces are held by studs with nuts through the sheet metal EXCEPT the 10" piece on the cowl - between the back of the hood ...

Unibody bed to cab connection?

Is it a single wall between the bed and the cab - or is it a double wall with a gap between them?

I want to attach something to the rear wall of the cab with screws and hope it's double wall - if so, how big is the gap?

Thanks

Re: speciality emblems

I recently found this outfit. I have not used them so can't vouch.

Square holes by interior air inlets

My truck has a 1x2" square hole cut in the metal on each side of the interior down by the footwell near the air inlet flapper.

Am I missing a cover plate or something?
Are these to access something?

Thanks

Re: Remove headlight switch knob?

So I've tried again after reading these suggestions but had no luck. With the knob all the way in - I can depress the button fully. When i pull the switch out I can no longer depress the button and I feel it hitting the shaft. When i have the switch pulled all the way out I still can not depress the...

Removing headlight switch knob?

I need to pull the headlight switch out of my '63. I know there is a button on the bottom of the switch that must be pressed in order to remove the knob & shaft. I've tried lots of shaft posistions to try to get it to release but to no avail - except for a sore thumb. Do you know the "secre...

Chrome dash plugs?

I have a couple of holes in my '63 lower dash where switches and bezels used to be.
I've seen many photos of trucks with chrome plugs in these holes.

I assume they are an original Ford part but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Can you recommend a source for these?

Thanks, Steve

'65 Custom Cab instruments into a '63?

I'm thinking about installing a '65 CC instrument cluster, with the sweep style speedometer, into my '63 Uni. I'm hoping the speedo cable, oil pressure sender and alternator sender will work as-is. And I'm also hoping the dash and blinker lights will just plug into the holes in the '65 cluster. Can ...

Door internals for a '63?

I recently acquired a '63 Unibody which the previous owner installed some hokey power windows and door locks.

Can you tell me if I can use parts from '64-'66 models to restore these mechanisms to original manual operation?

Much obliged
Steve
