Re: Power Steering Question
Thx Toyz, I am using an original PS box from a 77 f100. I thought about doing that. I am also thinking about finding another donor and robbing the whole front and get disc brakes also. As far as the steering column, I have purchased an Ididit column that telescopes in and out to accommodate ether ma...

Re: Power Steering Question
That's what I'm trying to figure out. I think I'm going to find another 77 through 79 donor and get the whole front end. I contacted DJM and asked them a few questions. They told me their dream beams will fit from 65 through 79. So if I can find a donor, I should be fine.

Re: Power Steering Question
Yes, I read that, but it was if I was swapping the whole front. I'm keeping my 66 spindles mainly because I have already purchased drop beams for 65-72 ford trucks and king pins for my 66. I'm probably screwed lol.

Re: Power Steering Question
ok, well what I need is info if the steering linkage from a 77 f100 will fit my 66 spindles? I know the connection to the 77 pitman arm needs to be the longer one because the pitman is thicker. But are the ends that connect to the spindles also longer?

Power Steering Question
I'm planning for the future with installing power steering on my 66 swb. I got a power steering gearbox out of a donor, a 1977 f150. I plan to send it to Redhead for a replacement. Here's my dilemma, through research, I found that if I use this gearbox, I have to use the steering links and pitman ar...

Re: Power steering box contacts spring bucket
I am about to do this soon to my 66. My research I found some say they had to use a hammer and bang in a small dent to clear the steering gear. You don't want to bang it in too far to interfere with the spring itself.

Re: Rear end noise
That's exactly what a mechanic told me, but wanted to be sure. It's going back together this weekend, but it is going to sit for a while till I'm done, possibly years. I'm going to fill it up, and just spin the wheels every once in a while to keep the gears lubed. Thanks

Rear end noise
I took my 9 inch rear end apart this past weekend. Of course the inside looked as if it hadn't been touched in 50yrs lol. Anyway, I cleaned the center chunk with brake cleaner and power washer. I then sprayed it with wd40 to keep it from rusting till I get it back together. My concern is this, befor...

Re: New brake lines to dual MC
I am running disc on front, drums in the back. The kit I have decided to use is from MP Brakes. The kit comes with everything to do the conversion. I ran through the numbers if I used a donor truck versus new. Well after you replace all the old with new from the donor, the kit is not too expensive c...

Re: New brake lines to dual MC
Thanks for the info. I figured I would have to run them basically the same as stock, but the rear line would have to bypass the original junction and run straight to the MC. The front would run from the front junction block to the MC. Is this the correct idea? Seems too easy

NEED HELP!!
I'm in the process of replacing the bearings and seals on my 66 swb f100. It has the 9 inch rear end, and from all the research I've done, I believe they are the big bearing old style type. My question is, where is a good place to get these parts? Do parts stores carry them, or order online? What in...

Re: New brake lines to dual MC
Thanks for your help, I think after looking at it a while I may have a plan. Just making sure, mainly because brakes are a serious thing to get wrong.

Re: New brake lines to dual MC
Thanks, and I will do that profile. I have checked all over, even on other forums. I guess to some it is one of those things that everyone should know. I could figure it out, but I to ease my worries, help on this would be great.

New brake lines to dual MC
I have been a member here for a while, and love finding the information I need. Well I finally started my project 66 Ford F100 SWB. First thing I am looking at is changing the single pot MC to dual. First off, I'm not a mechanic but I am mechanically incline. I am planning on ordering a kit from MP ...
