Re: Redneck Cab Mount spacer
I call BS! Yes you are correct about Ford buying a whole forest and yes you are correct about the bed spacer thing But... Ford was the very first company to reduce wood in their vehicles! Why do you think that Fords were so popular to make into hot rods from the 30's well into the 50's? Yup the flat...

If the tach drive is the main thing that you are looking for, you could do the same thing I did to use a mechanical tach. I used a 90* 2 to 1 ratio reducer mounted to the front of the crank shaft driven by a split pin inserted into the balancer bolt. I could send you a picture if you like.

Power assist steering set up for straight axle
Hi, I have 2 power assist units for a straight axle truck. They could probably be used on a truck all the way back to '48 through '64. I have 2 rams 2 control valves but only 1 Saginaw PS pump. Together all in one box weigh about 60lbs. If interested I can send pictures. I was going to use these par...

Re: Mod motor transmissions
I don't know if you have a engine or even where you are located. I have an early 4.6l that has the small block 6 bolt bell housing that is in great shape for sale. This engine along with other cast block mods will accept any heads you would like to use. Not to mention the endless trans combos that a...

Re: Thoughts on a sway bar?
You didn't say or I didn't catch what year your truck is. In my experience, a straight axle truck with good front springs doesn't need a bar in front. But any Ford truck '65 and up, if it doesn't have one it needs one. Any vehicle with an independent front suspension will drive completely different ...

Re: Brake Master and Booster Assembly
After re-looking at the picture. I mounted my valve opposite of how that one was mounted. My valve has the line for the rear brakes coming out the front and I used a fitting either from a GM vehicle that I had laying around or I bought it from the NAPA store, I can't remember. NAPA has a great suppl...

Re: Brake Master and Booster Assembly
If you can live with manual brakes, here is what I did on my '62 uni when I installed disc brakes on the front. I sourced a '67 F100 master cylinder and bought a combo valve for a '73 Chevy truck from Jegs.com. Everything bolted right up to the firewall and plumbed everything just like the picture s...

Re: Need help!!! May have mounted a motor wrong?
After rereading the posts, a best place to measure the engine/trans angle is at the intake manifold with the carb removed. But another great place is the trans pan flange or the bottom of the pan if it is parallel with the pan mounting flange, that way you can get all of your angles from under the t...

Re: Need help!!! May have mounted a motor wrong?
Drive shaft angles between the engine and drive shaft/drive shaft and rear axle should never be more than 3*. U joints start to bind after a angle more than a 3* differential. Also the engine and rear axle should be optimally at the same angle /tilt. Similar to this ---- \\\\ ___ .

Late model cars and trucks are full of relays a trip to a pick a parts yard could net you a handful of relays for little to nothing!

Great picture looks like you're going to have your hands full of Ford. That sure is a interesting way to connect a trailer I've never seen it done that way, how does it haul? Just kidding! You'll be a pro in no time! Good luck with your project.

Hate to but in.... B is for Battery D is for Distributor. If you have the wires crossed you will only have about half of the voltage that you need for a good spark.

Re: Grandpa's 1964 F100
Hi, I am fairly new around here. I too have grown up with a '64 that was my grandfathers, he set me on his lap and let me steer the truck while he was driving at slow speeds when I was only six years old. He gave me the truck ('64 F 250)when I was twelve and I owned it till I was twenty-three. It br...
