Re: Looked at a 1966 F250 today
I decided to pass on this one. The title issue started sounding a little fishy to me, though it could be completely legit and easy to title, I do not want to take a chance on it. Still looking.....

Re: Looked at a 1966 F250 today
Looking at my pic of the dash, any ideas if someone has hacked the radio opening or if I could still get a stock radio in there? Though I will not do a true to stock restoration, I like the look of the factory radios in old cars and trucks. They look strange to me with a modern stereo in them. yes ...

Re: Looked at a 1966 F250 today
Thanks to Paul and Rich for the suggestions on verifying VIN numbers. I'm going to call today and make him an offer, pending a good title. I will be sure that everything matches before I pay for the truck. The truck is about 6 hours round trip from my house, I am hoping he will hold it without a dep...

Re: Looked at a 1966 F250 today
Thanks for the input. I am thinking I will offer his asking price and have him chase the title down. He seems very confident that it is not an issue.

Looked at a 1966 F250 today
Wanting to buy my first Slick. I was supposed to look at a couple of them today, but one of them sold, it was a 66' F100 LWB 2WD. Anyway, I was able to look at the one I had more interest in, a 66' F250. I'm posting what I saw of the truck hoping for a little insight on what I am looking at. I have ...

Re: 66' dash question
Buy both of them.......... I have thought about buying both of them. From the pics, they both appear to be nice, rust free, running trucks. If I were to buy both, it would cut into my parts budget, it would take me longer to get one of them on the road. That's a rather minor factor to some of us! W...

Re: 66' dash question
They change out pretty easily, as long as the instrument harness is included. The sweep style uses only one turn indicator lamp for both sides, so there is a small jumper involved which is included with the sweep harness. The "more Gauges" were an option and commonly found on the Camper Sp...

66' dash question
I am new to this generation of Ford trucks, I have been looking for a 66' because I like them and it was the year I was born :D Anyway, I am seeing some with a round speedo and some with a more upgraded dash with a bigger sweep type speedo and more gauges. Is the dash/gauge layout different from tri...

Re: New guy looking for a little more info
Hey guys, Thanks for the feedback!! I am going to request Wednesday through the weekend off at work. Hopefully I can attend. Sounds like fun and it looks like there are a bunch of great people involved. If it pans out, I will start a thread on the truck I am going to look at Saturday in the appropri...

New guy looking for a little more info
New guy here, my first post 8) Since I am new, I guess I better say a little about me; long time Ford fan, no Slick right now but I do have an 85' F350 if that counts, at least a little. I have been a classic car buff since my early teens. My first car was a 66' Chevelle I bought at 14 with the mone...
