Re: gas cap leakage
I think its a Ford thing!! When I was 7 we had a 63 Galaxie, and ever time it got filled it would splash out the back, then mom got a 72 LTD, did the same. My 63 did it also. Now I have the Mustang tank, no more leaked gas... You could try using a late mode neck with the screw on cap.

Re: Wiper motors
Thanks, guess I need to do some wire checking. EDIT; Did some checking, all wires in top order, single speed motor, so only two wires to motor, checked the BLUE wire, has power at all times, checked the BLACK wire, power when switch is on, so that means that the cam on the motor is worn or the conta...

Wiper motors
Never gave it much thought, always just turned the switch off at the right time, So are the wipers on these trucks equipped with self park motors? or, have I been doing it right all along?

Re: 61-64 w/ (OG ford) brake booster mount direct to fire w
I was using a small dia 69 Torino booster, but it had an adapter plate that I made, and then made an adjustable rod to the pedal. Sorry no pictures, took it off and gave it to a buddy for his truck. I like the manual disc feel better than the touchy power stuff.

Re: Ignition switch
This post on the same forum as above tells more about the extra terminal.

You shouldn't have any problems with whatever switch you chose.

Re: Ignition switch
Heres a link to something I read over on another forum, https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/940225-starter-switch-motorcraft-sw-583-problems.html which is pretty much the same answer I'm finding everywhere I look, the terminal is not used....Make note of Numberdummy's comments.. and here is a picture...

Re: Ignition switch
I'm pretty sure it's a foreign REPO, and may not last as long as your old one. But as far as the difference in the two, your old one HAD a spade terminal on the outside as well, it's just missing. That's why you have a hole there. Hey oldsmiley, I've got three original switches, and they all have t...

That should get you started in the process of learning how to measure for fit. Also youtube is full of vids on the subject.

Re: New 63 owner
After reading the comments about offset, I went out and measured mine, its offset half an inch to the passenger side. I have plenty of room for the headers that are on the truck. Since it was over 25 years ago that I bought the cross member, it doesn't appear to be the Trans-dapt part. Something tel...

Re: New 63 owner
Hey Jeff. that is looking good. Just curious as to where you are having problems with your headers. I have the same engine mount setup and mine fit perfect, what brand of header do you have? Mine were with the truck when I got it. Don't know the brand, but they are OLD as grandma....and will need to...

I don't do facebook!!! I check in here every day, and respond to stuff that interest me... so if no one post anything, I just don't post. Sad isn't it? On a side note, with the latest news from "Trumpet" and the word that gas will soon cost too damn much, I'll most likely park the 6...

Wiper switch redo..
Took the switch apart, not much to it, just a couple of moving parts, some really dried up grease and some dirty contacts. Got it all cleaned up regreased and now I don't have to jiggle the knob  to get them to work...think I'll try that headlight switch next!!! https://s5.postimg.cc/ri8x2kn9z/...

Re: Rotor button question
Thanks for the info guys, getting old and forgetting stuff, well just part of life I guess. I tried six other rotors that I have and all were the same. Not having any sort of problem with the way it runs. Just don't like loose things :D The main thing I was concerned about was the rotor being forced...
