Ice is the man here. I have one thing to add - you can retard your timing to move the torque curve back "down."

OD trans would definitely help (would reduce RPM's at highway speeds) but you have to weigh the cost of the sway v.s the savings Don't get a bigger carb or intake, but EFI does help - again, weigh the prices. Shorter rear gears would certainly help. Replacing the head with a 240 head will raise comp...
