The spindles are the same. I parted out a 64 F250 and transferred the springs, rear axle and all the brakes over to my 64 F100. Front hubs even use the same wheel bearings, only difference being 8 lug instead of 5. Hope this helps.

Hello again, my truck is a 64 f100 with 64 f250 brakes, axles and springs. my unit is quiet other than a little whine when slowing down in gear with it in overdrive. I followed the break-in instructions and only use Amsoil GL-4 gear oil in it like they want.

Little late to reply maybe but I installed one in my truck when i did a Cummins 4bt install with a NP435 trans. Been chugging along now for 5 years and no problems, shifts great! put about 15,000 miles on it so far.

I just ground the rivits off and put the whole piece in the press and once I was done I bolted them back in the frame with grade 8 bolts.

Be careful, If it has the original Dana 60 rearend then it will have 16 spline axle shafts. Not the strongest. If its 100% original then it will have a course spline pinion too, once again kinda weak.

I have the same bellhousing and it was exactly the same way when I put it up to the back of a 351w. Mine also came off of a 240/300. I got it from FordMan thinking I could use it on the back of my cummins 4cyl with the smallblock Ford bellhousing adapter but no dice.

Just a note, When I converted my truck from 1/2 to 3/4 ton I had to drill out my rear spring hangers from 9/16 to 5/8. That sounds a little high. Ive had lots of alternators charge that high on a real cold morning start but they would only do it for 30-45 seconds then taper off to around 14.5. Are you running a alternator or a generator?
