Re: Wanted Dana 61 front axel...
Yep, already have a 61 rear.... If I didn't I would have already swaped in a pair of 3:55 axel's and lived with the 60 mph speed limitation.

Wanted Dana 61 front axel...
Looking for a "Dana 61" front axel. Needs to be a 3.07/ 3.08 ratio ( VERY hard to find ratio). 87 to 94 Ford IDI diesels or Dodge first gen diesel 89 to 94. 3/4 or 1 ton is fine I'm very capable of changing spindle /hubs, and have them at my disposal. And plan on a full u joint, seal and b...

Re: New set of wrenches
That is a well organized set of adjustable hammers.
I would suggest a few bigger ones... Two pounders are handy.

Re: Electric crate motor swap into a skick.
I guess I have a different view of the whole electric vehicle/ hybrid's. We get dead hybrid's in once in a while. (We dissuade thier arrival when we can) They are a genuine pain in the arse , the batter pack is usually under or part of the floor of the vehicle. And as such a huge pain to remove befo...

Re: Non Slick 4 x 4 conversion question
For a body swap, none that I can think of... that are a no go situation, is trans tunnel height the same on both cabs? If not save the 4X4 hump... The 4x4 column may need to be transferred to the new cab, and or parts of it. Pay close attention to body mounts, spacers for bed core support etc. I bel...

Re: Non Slick 4 x 4 conversion question
The 2wd will be coil spring front, and the 4x4 will be leaf... Drilling , grinding and driving out all the rivets that hold the two different suspension systems on the frames is all it would take to make the frame swap my only viable direction. If you haven't removed several factory installed rivets...

Re: unibody tailgate
A repairable 65 tail gate appeared in the "similar items for sale" for $40...
But that uni gate may be a candidate for the smooth panel inserts, saving a lot of dent repair.
As hard as orignal uni gates are to find, that may be a winner.

Re: Door Window Anti-Rattle Kit
Did the the antirattlers from Tom here on the site, worked great. Did a precision back glass seal, again perfect fit. Bought a windshield seal direct from Carpenters, and wish like hell I would have stretched the hell out of it! It has gaps in all four corners. :cussing: Bought a second windshield (...

If you have the storage space for them, Don't trash the original wheels, there is a small but fervent market for them.

Re: 16 inch wheel replacement
1976 thru 200? Model years, E250, E350, E450 should have 16" wheels with the 8 on 6.5 pattern. Some of the early years may have 16.5" wheels... Yes your 3/4 ton hubcaps will fit... Note: supplying manufacturers may have changed over that large of a span of time. So mixing and matching year...

Re: Steve's 64 Short-bed Project
Which end is the cut on, trans end or pinion?
Pinion bearings will take a good beating...
Trans bushings not so much....
At this point weld it up and see how it feels...
If you don't like the results you have a pattern to hand the nearest drive line shop...

bang.gif OK, LMC windshield installed with the same Dennis Carpenter gasket. And the fit is only marginally better if any... All four corners still have a 1/8" to 1/4" gap. My 1964 bus windshield and 61 gasket that had shrunk so much it had torn at the original seam and had a 2" gap i...

Re: Windshield gaskets?
Personally, I put it between the glass and rubber, and between the rubber and steel.
Touch up after installing buy flipping the lip back is a good idea.
Your mileage may vary....
My original gasket / windshield had the dried but still flexible sealant in both positions.

I'll bring it to ya at SS... It's only a little short and narrow at the top... 1/4" each way at the top...
If you need it before then I'll work something out with you and meet you half way or better.

http://www.fordification.com/library/picture.php?/490/category/71 So best I can decipher from the salesman's fact book... Chrome bumper would have been on a Custom cab with the Deluxe appearance package added.... The only non available option you have mentioned is a "Steel" Chrome grill......

Re: What Option Dictated Chrome Or Aluminum Grille?
Its my understanding the Custom cab trucks were top of the line back in those times. And received the bright work inside and out... Otherwise it was painted grill and front bumper, rear bumpers were an option regardless of trim level. Mirrors, rear bumpers, hazard lights, spot lights and such luxury...
