Imagine running Le Mans like that, flat out, with all those other cars, for 4 hours straight, then doing your night shift too.
Remember also that was 1968 tire technology too.
Real racing, if it rained, you pulled in they put on rain tires and you went right back out.

Re: Since I can't work on my REAL truck...
This is not your first model build is it.
Looks great!
Actually there is a model out there,
they have a 66 SWB and a 63 SWB with a late bed.
1/25 scale in resin.

Re: OH MY GAWD!!!!
Warranty tag is in the glove box in 1962. I suppose you could rivet it to the plastic too............... In it's defense - it does solve certain issues installing the 5.0 and keeping the interior connected to it - AC etc. It probably would have looked better "fit" if it were closer to the...

Yesterday my Dad said;
"I am going to get a pickup, put a plow on it.
I am going to drive it south until somebody asks me what it is and then I am going to move there."

Cool idea.
I still want to built a Unipanel.
Yea, I know -
I have been saying that for 10 years now.

302's, 5.0's and 64's and 79's
Since this also affects my 64 I am putting this here too. It may also be helpful to 65-66 owners. 78-79 Master cylinder and clutch. Here's the deal, I am not real excited with the 302 that's in my 79, it has a C4 behind it. I have a fresh roller cam 302 that I converted to a carb sitting in my 64 w...

Re: 'flat' paint jobs - opinions/thoughts wanted
I'm not going to want to "just leave it sit outside" when I had this nice new garage built for it and after working on it for 4+ years Rich, lol. I haven't decided to do it this way - just a theory. I just don't want it to look "too new" I guess. The idea is to have it look like...

Re: New suspension mod ideas...
Love it................lol. I remember testing ride heights on the rear of my 64 Bel Air (it was lowered baby moons on black rims etc. early 60s style). While deciding how far down I wanted the rear I made temporary adjustments with concrete blocks in the trunk. It was a good way to check the look ...

Re: 'flat' paint jobs - opinions/thoughts wanted
Since this was brought up I will toss this in for opinions. My goal for my 64 is to have a paint job that looks like a 1964 paint job. I don't want flat or too much gloss and definitely no clear (I don't like clearcoats anyway). I will be shooting the truck with enamel just like Ford did. Now to &q...

Re: Valve adjustment questions? Help
Compared to later engines the 223s, 262s, and Y blocks will always be noisy because of the solid lifters. They shouldn't be excessively noisy though. Being a fresh rebuild they may just need a little longer to seat. What weight oil are you running? - those old engines don't like 5w anything. They w...

Re: just curious, what is this?
They had them in the 50s and the 60s even behind FE's. Chris's 60 Galaxie has one. They were solenoid operated off of a knob under the dash usually. The later ones you just left them in OD to for driving, after you got to about 30 MPH you would just lift off the gas and it would shift. You could al...

Re: whiskey
I'm with Chris,
Evan Williams is a fine bourbon even if the price were higher.
They have a "1783" and a "Single Barrel" which are probably better than Makers Mark if their Black label is any indication.

Re: Bronco/F150 Hub Cap Plastic Insert
I thought of knock offs on these center caps too.
You have a picture Paul and where did the knockoffs come from?
The wheels I used these caps on were supposed to get knockoff caps but those have been out of production since before I got the wheels (no I wasn't told)

If you don't mind I'd like to see pics of them with the center caps, during the installation, finished etc.
I have the F 150/Bronco center caps on my American racing Rodmasters too.
