The real story of Slick 60's
Lance/ Kid. By my recollection, we just passed the 14th or 15th anniversary of the founding of the club. Do you guys remember exactly when you posted that original site on Excite all those years ago? I found you in December of '95 (I think), signed up as member #13 and remember being so happy to fin...

Re: "Stainless"
Here are a couple of shots for you to look at. *These were taken before I installed Kevin's tilt hood kit. Again, I use "never-seize" with a washer under the head of the bolt to keep the paint from chipping when you crank it down, and a matching stainless fiber lock nut and washer on the b...

Re: "Stainless"
I buy mine in bulk at the local fastener warehouse here in Houston. I'm using 5/16-18 with stainless lock nuts and washers. I usually pay about 17 bucks total for a box of 25 each. Some of the bolts are 5/16-24 so if you're replacing bolts in general, check the thread size before you start trying to...

Jason, spend money on the truck. It'll last years longer than the honeymoon. That's over in a couple of weeks or until you track grease into the kitchen.

Pate Swap meet
The big Pate Swap meet is April 24-27 this year. If you've never been, it is a bucket list item. We have about 25 spaces of nothing but Slick people, trucks and parts and at least 20 people that show up every year. If you haven't gotten your room reserved yet, you'd better get on it right away. I al...

Re: Door panels
I made mine out of formed aluminum sheet and covered it with fabric to match my interior. I'm pretty sure I wrote a "how to" in the hints and tricks forum. The door and window handle are both recessed too. http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj117/SkipinHouston/Truckhistory26_zpsee1edbe8.jp...

Still picking nits, but here is a shot of Daryl making sure the seat belts and steering column actually fit the way they were intended to. Yep, everything lines up. The light switch and ignition switch checked out too. More wiring in the next few weeks so probably won't be many pictures. Wires are w...

Re: addco sway bar on my 64 question
I built my own sway bar out of a Bronco II 4-wd front bar and it made worlds of difference, and Max made his own but used a slightly different technique. There should be pictures of both in "hints and tricks" I think or else in the "projects and builds" thread. But yes, you go fr...

Take a look at some of the "projects & builds" to get an idea about what some of the other guys are doing. There are all levels of projects there and some pretty damn good pieces being put together. Personally, I'd write down a statement of intent on what you'd like to end up with rath...

When I was a just pup taking auto shop in high school in the dark ages, our instructor who was an old time drag racer in south Georgia, told me that the only-est (sic) thing that kin outrun cubic inches is cubic money. Lesson learned.

Re: Nov. 24, 1963... Dallas, TX
Even though I hate the modern media, they have one thing right. Everybody remembers exactly where they were when they found out Kennedy had been shot. I was a student at North Texas State and a friend named Lynn Fulligar and I were going south from Denton on I-35 in Dallas at the Wycliff exit that F...

Re: Bed liners
Nobody that I know of has drop in liners for our trucks. Having said that, what is your objection to spray in liners. You can get a DIY kit in several different colors (including the gun) from Al's Liners for less than the price of a drop in.

Re: Truck went to the paint shop today
Just put a Gen II in Tweetybird so look in the build section for pictures. Its a great product but not as easy to install as it looks either as we just came up with another problem we didn't expect. Take a close look at the Mini-system which wasn't recommended by our Vintage Air dealer. Maybe luckys...
