Re: Swapping out an FE 360
If it were me I stick with the V8. Sure the 300 will get better mileage but I doubt it will be worth the loss of power or the work to do the swap. Neither engine is going to get good mileage towing 6000 lbs plus the weight of the trailer. What is the 360 from?

Re: Intermittent Wipers Available For Two Speed Slicks
Link says 68 but I bet the module won't know the difference as long as you have a two speed motor and switch. See the video on how it works. https://www.revolutionelectronics.com/Products/Ford-intermittent-wipers/ Looks like a cool little box. I already have a late 70's motor, switch, control, and ...

Re: WHAT UP???????
Bill I know they changed the gas filler necks in 1972. and even further up like 73-79 trucks. I don’t ever recall seeing any of those years leaking gas down the side. You might find it easier to use a later neck, and a non-vented cap, than one to fit the older necks. Just a thought...... My brother...

Re: WHAT UP???????
I've got two other threaded bungs welded to the top of my tank. One is for a vent line, the other is for a return from my surge tank. 302 with EFI. Low pressure electric pump pulls fuel from the factory pick up line to the surge tank with a return to the main tank with a tube that reaches almost the...

The extra width will make them even harder to get on. You may have to jack the axle down to get them on.

Re: WHAT UP???????
I try and stop by almost every day to see if anything is going on. I'm slowing making progress on my truck, I'll try to take some pictures this weekend and get them posted. Speaking of gas caps, I need a non vented cap that will seal tight and not leak down the side of the cab on my new paint when i...

That should work out well. It's a shame you already did your frame, may have been easier to just mount the cab on the newer chassis.

Re: Steve's 64 Short-bed Project
I think you will need something to stiffen the plywood across the center or it will sag.

Re: Steve's 64 Short-bed Project
I built a hard cover a few years ago and used bedliner to cover it instead of vinyl.

In the first picture of the cab corner it looks like almost zero clearance between the door and cab?
The out side of the bed looks great.

Re: long bed to short bed
The first link there is mine. Shortening the bed really is not that bad of a job, I actually enjoy doing that kind work. My truck is still in progress just moving slower than I'd like sometimes. Hopefully I can get some updates posted in the coming months. My goal is to get the remaining body parts,...

Re: How’s this thing work???
The top jack is for measuring amps only and is not needed to test voltage. Putting the two leads directly on the battery with the truck not running you should read real close to 12V if the battery is charged up. With the truck running you should measure around 14V output from the alternator if it is...
