Re: My New custom cab cluster and 'stock look tach"
if you just strip off the existing white paint the panel will be nice and shiny with no need for silver paint heres a before and after of one i did http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/ff322/alaskaslick60s/IM002007.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/ff322/alaskaslick60s/0002008b.jpg http://i536.ph...

Re: Factory spotlight?
can get the bulb at an auto parts store.
they come in a couple different styles , spot, flood etc. depending on what you want to use it for.
some trucks did come from the factory with them others had the dealer install.

Re: y block paint colors..ford red or old ford blue?
factory for the 61-64 y block and 6 was red covers with black block.
i do like the red/gray best as the gray makes spotting leaks easier and it just looks good imo

Re: 64 F250 - which clutch kit?
I think the only safe way would be to measure what you have. There is no telling what changes have occurred to any of these vehicles in their 50+ yrs. i agree generally speaking the 12" were used on the bigger trucks but in the 50 year span nothing is to be guessed at. since they are not inter...

3 choices
hose leaking
fitting in booster on hose cracked/leaking
booster itself is gone
have someone operate the brakes while you look/ listen under the hood

the stock uni 4x4 height would be the same as any other slick 4x4 except the 66 f100 4x4 which had the coil springs in the front.

the only slick cabs you cant use are 65-66 f100/f250 2wd and 66 f100 4x4.
even a uni would work.
personally since your fairly close i would call Tom at http://www.flashbackf100s.com

Re: Gypsum Kansas Pie Festival !
Better not enter an old inline Ford 6 if you are attempting to blow one up. They will run indefinitely even without oil! back in the late 1970s me and a friend attempted this, i had an old rusty maverick that the clutch had gone out on. we went out one day, started it up and removed the throttle sp...

Re: Neep some help on a dipstick tube 66 -240
easy to make a new tube out of 5/16 brake line, already has the nut and flare just get it longer than needed and use a tubing cutter on the top end after careful measuring of correct length.

Re: Neep some help on a dipstick tube 66 -240
Gregg pretty sure the end of the tube is supposed to have a flare on it so as not to pull out of the nut. just guessing but it may have been shortened and the goo put on to accomodate the 80s dipstick. the pic shows only the top end, not sure if yours is the same length http://i536.photobucket.com/a...

and then jumped the two wires for the brake light switch to see if I could get lights that way, and still no lights. Rich has to be 12v coming out of one of the wires for that to work, key needs to be on or jumped directly from 12v. had one once where the wire in the column tube had rubbed bare and...
