Re: Bronco/F150 Hub Cap Plastic Insert
Get some Blue oval chrome hood/grill ornaments - they came in various sizes depending on the car (90s Escort may be about the right size).
Drill the plastic centers, mask & paint them, silicone, epoxy or whatever the logos in place - done.

Re: 302 engine install question
You will need different towers. Easiest solution is a "pull ur own" junkyard, find a 67-79 with a Windsor and take the towers, trans X member, even the driveshaft will help. Get all engine brackets etc. as you specific swap requires. If you find a donor with disc brakes it would be a good...

Re: Ford 2.3 with a dead #2 cylinder
Yes, the PCV in the valve cover is not the only vacuum source for the crankcase. It's not it's Grandpa's PVC system, lol. Even my 79 pulls vacuum from more than 1 place for PVC. Those twin plug 2.3s are really confusing at first - everything looks kinda foreign. It's actually a very simple setup on...

BTW,
for the cork a small piece of tubing makes a sufficient punch.

Re: Ford 2.3 with a dead #2 cylinder
I guess I kinda misunderstood - I thought you were baffled by the continued miss. Like Merc & Paul said - the purpose of the PVC system is to create a vacuum in the crankcase - it's supposed to evacuate the oil vapor and burn it to keep sludge buildup in the engine to a minimum = longer engine ...

Re: Throttle Body EFI
So you think a new carb kit & fuel pump should be alcohol safe Paul? To be clear I am talking about the 10% ethanol stuff here not something like E-85. The check ball in the fuel pump is sticking anyway, guess that's as good excuse as any too. I am think the carb has a pretty fresh rebuild in i...

Throttle Body EFI
It's getting harder to find gas without alcohol - this is reference to my 79. This stuff will eventually eat up the rubber in my carb, and fuel pump - this isn't a problem with the 64 because I can get alcohol safe parts for the Holley on it. As much as I hate to consider this (I bought this truck ...

Re: Ford 2.3 with a dead #2 cylinder
First if it's showing lean then the injector is likely the problem, whether it be the injector itself or the wiring harness. Burning a hole in a piston doesn't happen overnight on a normally driven car. Parts from a "pull ur own" are cheap enough to use for swap & check diagnosis - I ...

Re: Tire size Question
I had my 225 - 60s on the front of my 79 for awhile - it's VERY similar under there. They didn't rub but didn't have a lot of clearance. There are adjustable steering stops on the I beams, you could just adjust them to not rub if they do. This will reduce your turning radius a little too though. 25...

Re: Cork taillight gaskets?
You can buy rubber/cork gasket material in sheets (or rolls) at most parts stores.
Cut your own - you only need a decent cutting board, punch for the screw holes, and a couple sharp Xacto blades & handle - a good small snap off knife would work OK too.

I Fly too - you know that already though. I started with FF & CL when I was around 8 years old. Started RC in 91, I switched to all electric around 2003. I mostly prefer Old Timers and WW I planes. I still build from plans and kits - I have a few ARFS but I lose interest in them quickly - they ...

Attending - Yes absolutely. When? I have no damn idea since I start a new job Friday and I doubt I will have any vacation by that point. However since Des Moines is one of the destinations they service, maybe I could get a run up there Friday and just bring the truck & trailer back Sunday. Anyb...

Nice, he get the blue one fixed? I remember the 59 My Dad had when I was a kid. He sold it because it got horrid gas mileage and mind gas was .19 a gallon or so then, lol. I personally am a 58 Chevy 59 Buick guy if you talk this era of GM's. Imagine a 59 Buick 2 door wagon - I got a welder............

Re: 223 bolt up to a S10 T5
My personal solution is a Mustang T-5 with a shifter that makes is "S" in a forward direction rather than rearward to clear the seat.
