If it's the same as my 62, pull the steering wheel off and pull the switch apart. I found a bunch of dirt sitting at the bottom of the switch. Vacuumed it out and sanded the contacts, put her all back together and she works like a champ.

My problem was the left rear turn signal was not working.

I had a problem with my throttle and found it to be in the hinge of the gas pedal. The plastic/rubber had cracked and allowed grit and moisture to get into the hinge. A little BP blaster and she was good as new.

Put some fuel down the carb and see if she fires up. If it does than it's probably the fuel. If not hook up a timing light to number one and roll it over and see if its firing at all, looking at the timing light , could be a bad igntion module. Crank the engine over to TDC then pull the Distributor ...
