Run it may
but steer & stop it must.
Don't sacrifice on steering and brakes. Safety is the #1 issue with anything that we build.

El Polacko Steve, Per our conversation on Friday I will stop in and see you about the tilting hood(hopefully within the next 2 weeks). Here is a link to the pics of where I am at on my truck. I am working on it again and hope to paint it this winter so it can be in upholstery in the spring or summer...

Iceman, the problem with most of these hoods(not all-some people don't know how to align parts) is the slop in the pivots on the hinges. If you shut my hood, the hood sticks up in the rear, then you can push the hood down at each side and it lines up perfect. If I take the springs off the hinges it ...

From what I have read is that if I replace the hinges it will fix the problem temporarily but will come back after about 6 months of use. This truck will sit with the hood open so I don't want the problem returning. Everything is going to be clean and smooth under the so I want to show it off. Kevin...

Eliminate Hood Springs?????
I am thinking to eliminate the problem with these hoods sticking up in the back to take off the springs and put on gas springs(props) to lift the hood. I took the springs off and the hood falls down in place like it should. Has anybody done this, what size of props did you use and how did you mount ...

My wife and I passed through Lethbridge on our Harley's in August. We made a stop at the Harley dealer and met some nice people there. It appeared that you have a nice town even though it was trying to rain on us. Rain is something that we are not used to in Phoenix. Good luck with your slick. kston...

I talked to Dakota Digital about the Bronco gauges and they told me that they are different than the Ford P/U. They do make a gauge cluster that will bolt right in to your truck. I have the gauge sitting here to go in my 63 once I get to that point. Hopefully that will be within the next year or les...

I purchased a stud welder to pull the dents out and it also had a shrinking tip with it. The roof had the oil can affect so it it took about 200 small shrinks with this tip to get the roof to tighten up. I would heat it with the tip for about 2 seconds and then put a damp rag on it to cool it and sh...

stellj, When you are ready to prime look at Sherwin Williams RS3401 primer. It is a high build direct to metal epoxy primer. It will fill small dimples if you apply it heavy enough to where you can block it out smooth. I used it on mine and it is amazing how much it fills. http://i170.photobucket.co...

Alan, Thank you for the measurements and the pics of the tilting hood. It looks really good. When I get back to work on my truck, I will seriously consisder building this for mine. That is if it ever cools off here in Phoenix. I have to leave town to go to Sturgis for the motorcycle rally and then o...

Alan, Can you send me the measurements and some close up pics of your tilt hood? I may be interested in doing something similar to mine. How do you hold down the rear of the hood? If you go to your tire manufacturers website and get the specs for the tire you can figure the RPM with any gear ratio. Find the tire specs and get the tire revolutions per mile and multiply by the gear ratio to get the driveshaft RPM. If the final trans gear is 1:1 this will be your engine rpm @ 60...

I did the work
I have done everything myself except for the powdercoating and the fuel tanks(a friend made those for me). The power windows have not been installed yet but I have had power to them and they are real smooth operating. They should work perfect in the truck because the motor went in place of the windo...

For MadMaxetc The gas tank does come out the bottom but it is very tight going in and out. The tank is in two pieces(front & rear) with a hose 2" fuel between the both pieces and a crossover vent at the top. It probly will be a little slow to fill but I wanted the extra fuel. The P/W motors...

New from Phoenix
I have been following your website for a while now and thought it is time to sign up. I have a 63 F100 w/ a 64 bed I put on it. This is the truck I learned to drive in high school and bought it back to do a major facelift on it. I grafted a Camaro subframe into it, powdercoated the frame, master cyl...
