Re: the holy grail of custom slicks!!!!
Ton of work, very well executed.
A little too much for me for a custom truck.
But still pretty cool.
You want traditional - you have a whole lot of it right there.

Re: SLOT CAR TRACK ON SITE !! for SS6
I will get a controller and bring it.
I liked the Capri too much so if it costs me a couple extra bucks I'm not gonna sweat it.
It also works for me at the local track that isn't digital.

Re: SLOT CAR TRACK ON SITE !! for SS6
The Carrera Evololution say they are digital ready? I know I will have to buy the chip but the they word it it's a plug in affair. I just saw you post saying not Evolution. AFTER - I bought this Evolution car; http://www.topslotsntrains.com/uploaded_photos/Carrera-Evolution-CA-27369-Ford-Capri-RS-3...

Re: SLOT CAR TRACK ON SITE !! for SS6
Thanks Guys.
I will find a Carrera Digital car I like.
I guess if I get a home track it will have to that too so I can run the car I get.

Re: SLOT CAR TRACK ON SITE !! for SS6
So Lance. Will any of the digital cars work? And do the 1/24 cars have bigger motors or something? I ask because the Sports Racing Cars I like are quite small for their scale so may be close to the 1/32 full size cars. Or does the scale reference the chassis size only and not the scale of the body?...

That is all fascinating Danny and Bill - Thank You.
I love the photos of the stripped bodywork on the Bugatti - aircraft style flush rivets.
In 1936 - 37 those were probably pretty recent technology.

Re: Truck names?
I have named my 79 F 150 Amie - it just kinda popped into my head.
No name for the 64 yet,
I have to actually see her closer to my vision and then something will just fit.

Try a speedo cable from a truck the M5 came in - late 80s?
Glad to help - or try anyway.

Re: 64' M5OD 5.0 install - whose done it?
Those 2 added crossmembers will stiffen the frame and shorten the area that can flex. Not sure if that will be enough. You could maybe box part of the area between the 2 added crossmembers. I wouldn't over do it though, the flex in the frame is part of the suspension dynamics on a straight axle tru...

Re: 64' M5OD 5.0 install - whose done it?
You want that crossmember right there or reconnected similar to mine. Holding the engine is only one of it's purposes. It's actually more important function is to tie the rear spring mounts together. Without it the frame will flex too much at the hardpoint for the springs - it will feel abit "...

Re: 64' M5OD 5.0 install - whose done it?
The pieces Skip is talking about would be VERY helpful to you. One other note on the M5OD; The shifter rod has plastic seals in it's bore on each end (they are kinda like a small freeze plug). The plastic ones the factory uses deteriorate and the trans will leak there. I don't have to explain what ...

Re: 64' M5OD 5.0 install - whose done it?
Thank You. My 5.0 is a 93 engine. The headers and mounts are 79 F 150.| I made the Trans crossmember to use the Mustang trans mount. I basically parted out a 79 302 to convert it to a carb. I added the eccentric on the cam for the fuel pump, changed the timing cover to the earlier one for the fuel ...

Re: 64' M5OD 5.0 install - whose done it?
This is how I did mine. I used a rebuilt T5 I had but still. The M5OD will be easier to use a hydraulic clutch with. You will have to check the bore/stroke of the M5OD stock master but I used a brake master for a Slick for my clutch. My 64 is a 3 speed truck and I left the floor intact - have a few...
